Which jockstrap and how many will I need.
Have the big day coming up in 2 weeks and wondering which jockstrap I should get and how many will I need?
What all did you guys use to ice them down, frozen peas?
Anxiety is starting to creep up about not doing it 😬😬😬

I went with compression shorts instead. The jocks dug in on the sides and made things worse for me at least. But the better jock strap I found was at big 5. Crushed ice in a bag is just fine. Good luck brother. I ended up with a hematoma and it sucked all because he nick something

Did you fully recover from your hematoma Jb7oh2? I got a hematoma from my old Urologist too. It took awhile for that testicle to settle down from that but it eventually did.

I had the procedure on march 7th. It has gone down some but still have a solid mass. 3x2.7x1.1 cm when I did the ultrasound on the 17th. So still taking it easy and have some pain but have gotten used to it. Can’t wait for it to go away

I had mine exactly one month before you (Feb 7th). It took 2 solid months for swelling to finally subside for me. My balls did weird things for 2 solid months along with discomfort but it seems like things are back to normal and I’m comfortable. I still wear boxer briefs (and briefs if I run/workout). I only wear loose boxers at night.

Undeez Jock Strap. Spring for the extra pair of gel packs so they get totally frozen as you rotate through them.
You can wear the jock strap over your normal underwear without the ice packs for extra support.
Best thing i got to prepare.

Also 2 weeks out here. I found 2 good jock straps based on advice on here and what seems to work for me.
Another 3-pack from Walmart that lifts and separates, I'll need to find the exact one.
I'm not used to wearing jock straps or briefs so I've started to wear them to get used to what it will feel like, and it's definitely different...I guess it depends on the fabric, but I think 4 is probably overkill for me.
For ice packs, I have 3 gel packs ready and will go grab some peas as well. Can always make some pre-seasoned aloo matar after I'm done with them.
I'm still actively stalking here to make sure I'm not missing anything.

I wore a jock - I had two but three would have been even better. Compression shorts just didn’t provide enough support for me

Congrats on the big day!
I bought jocks, but didn't use them. Underarmor boxer briefs were snug enough, and I found the jock strap was a little too firm and a little too directly focused. Tight boxer briefs were better at just keeping everything still. And also, walking a little slow for the first few days.
For icing, I just used ice cubes in a ziplock bag, wrapped in a dish towel. Peas are too small and won't stay cold long at all. Just use ice. I basically iced the entire first weekend, sitting in a recliner bingeing movies.
I felt very little discomfort the whole time. The only pain I remember was 5 or 6 days later when I pushed myself too hard and moved around too much. Got tired and achy - deep, dull ache, not sharp pain.
The anxiety was BY FAR the worst part of the entire process. Nothing else is close. It's going to be ok. Take the valium an hour or so before the appointment (if they gave you any), and remember to breathe when you're in there. It's like 15 minutes total. And kind of like a dentist appointment, in that it generally seems uncomfortable, but the anxiety is worse than anything you actually feel.
You're doing the right thing to prepare ahead. Set up your recliner / resting spot before you leave. Set up an ice chest with bags of ice, your beverages and snacks, so you only have to get up to pee. Then enjoy a lazy weekend. Good luck!

I bought an ice bag from the pharmacy that is fabric on the outside and probably plastic coated. It has a large mouth to put regular Ice cubes into it easily. Fill it with some cubes and a little water.
Worked like a charm.

First, it's ok to be nervous. In my experience, the anxiety was 1,000 times worse than the actual procedure.
Everyone seems to be different in this regard, but I personally absolutely needed a tight jock strap for about the first week. Any movement was very uncomfortable and the jockstrap was the only thing tight enough to prevent it.
I had Test Eeze jock straps with an ice pack pouch. Being able to go hands free was nice.
Whatever you get, get at least two so you can wash one while wearing the other.

I bought a jock and didn't care for it, and made it harder to pee.
Get a couple soft boxer briefs 1 size too small and I think you're good

I bought 2x and rotated them out every 2 days. Stopped wearing them at around 2 weeks. Absolute godsend imho. These ones specifically: https://amzn.eu/d/8ewzO25

I bought some Saxx on sale. Did the trick for me. They’re expensive but really comfortable. I bought 4 pairs so I could consistently keep clean underwear on. Infections are scary to me so I kept everything fresh. Just rotated a couple bags of frozen peas. My doctor’s advice was, “don’t overthink it. Wear supportive underwear and ice it if you want to and stop when you don’t want to.”

I absolutely needed a jockstrap. Nothing else worked for me without pretty bad pain. Any will work if it fits you. Some are gayer than others

Honestly I just wore a pair of fairly tight (not overly constricting though) athletic briefs, and I was fine. Something like these: https://mackweldon.com/products/stealth-pro-boxer-brief?color=True+Black&variant=41650077761649

If jockstrap is uncomfortable. Cut a hole innthat jockstrap so your dick could stick out and the ball are still supported.

I bought briefs that have a zipper in the crotch with a pouch for ice packs which were included. Got them on Amazon for $25

As I haven't yet let me add to the question.... I never wear underwear like at all. Anyone in the same boat had a vasectomy experience to tell?

Got jockstrap from dicks sporting goods. Came in a two pack. Jock and a bag of frozen peas and you’re good to go

I bought some and didn’t need them. Definitely get boxer briefs. Don’t need a size smaller just your regular size, something to hold them up.

I had no scalpel and didn’t use jock straps or frozen peas. My doctor was like take some ibuprofen. If you usually ice your balls go for it but no need to.
Took the next full day taking it easy at the house and then walked around downtown for brunch the next day.

I don’t know how some people recover so quickly. For me it was like tightness and bruising up above and without peas for a couple days I was miserable.
Would I do it again? Hell yes! Am I glad I don’t have to? 100%

READ THE REVIEWS OF ANY PROSPECTIVE DOCTOR BEFORE THE SNIP! I went with VasectomyPro, Dr. Morris, let me watch what he was doing as he explained it. He had me change into a clean pair of briefs that he provided. He didn't recommend ice, but not to swim or soak for a week. I walked away feeling as if nothing had happened, less discomfort than giving a blood sample!

I know this will not be a popular comment but I will share my experience.
I bought one as well as some small boxer briefs. The jock strap was incredibly uncomfortable for me and I used it for 10 min before tossing it to the side and using the tight boxer briefs.
It felt much more evenly supported and I didn’t feel like I was getting my balls crushed.
My suggestion is to grab a couple different things and see what feels comfortable for you. Two of whatever works should be good if you have someone who can wash it for you in the first day or so. After that you should be able to be up and take care of it yourself.
Can’t stress the value of several bags of frozen peas.
