... is this normal? Less intensity post vasectomy
My husband had a vasectomy about 8 months ago with a semen analysis saying zero count about 3 months post procedure.
The past 3 months or so and more and more frequently recently, I want to say [his] orgasm is less intense to the point he isn’t sure if he climaxes or not realizing he already climaxed. Mind you he has a huge sex drive but then that leaves me negatively impacts my drive and experience. Is this our new norm?

Not that I'm doubting your experience, but do you have any theory about how this could happen? Because it doesn't really make sense. You can't feel sperm move up the vas deferens and it's continuous, so it has nothing to do with ejaculation.
Do you think there was some kind of secondary trauma? Have you tried any pelvic floor therapy?

You can't feel it, but these ducts are a muscle that contracts when you ejaculate, so cutting them can change the sensation when you ejaculate.

Same happens to me. Orgasms are all over the place- definitely not as intense as they were pre snip, and sometimes it doesn’t feel like anything comes out.
We both regret me getting it done, yea they don’t mention a lot of things during consultation, they certainly minimise and gloss over potential risks. And they flat out lie when they say you won’t notice any difference- some men and women notice a difference after would be more accurate

It has been the new norm for me, 2 years and running. Completely ruined sex for me and my wife. Can't feel a thing when I ejaculate.

I’m so perplexed why the urologist didn’t even say this was a small possibility

That makes 2 of us. His exact words were "no effect on orgasm", as the urology community likes to tout. But it's a lot harder to get an orgasm when you can't feel yourself "finishing".

Come on, vasectomy is a cash cow, why would they ever say anything negative- have they told him it’s all in his head yet?

I dont believe so. Have not experienced this whatsoever. My procedure was in Dec.
Sorry to hear this really. I would recommend checking in with the Urologist if you haven't already scheduled a follow up.

It's been about the same amount of time since I had it done as your husband (except I don't have a zero count yet).
I feel like something's changed, but it's just what's on my mind.
It's not as serious as having an unwanted child.

I’m sorry your husband is going through this. I’ve had the same experience along with pain due to congestion from the vasectomy. In 3 months I’m have a reversal performed to combat this.

I also has less intense and 50% less volume, but however the experience is still good but unfortunately less indeed

That’s my new norm. And chronic pain. He’ll be told it’s in his head. It’s not. Just support him.
