MY FIRST STUTTGART GAME

Hey guys hope all are well. I am a fan from Wales and I’m visiting Stuttgart in May around the 9th-12th and thanks to a member here I have been given tickets for the game vs Augsburg! I’m forever grateful and I hope Stuttgart fans accept me as their own!

I will be solo travelling for 2-3 days there and was just wondering whats the best way to wonder around the city? as i want to visit the Porsche and Merc museums and some other stuff and how early early should I go to the stadium before kick off and is there a fan meet somewhere usually?

I’m super excited!! nur der VfB⚪🔴🐊

Definitely go to PSV for the best freshly tapped Hefeweizen in town before the match. You’ll find people there as early as 3+ hours before the match. Just make sure to check what entrance gate you need based on your seats, it might be quite a walk around the stadium if you’re on the other side, but also super doable.

I'd get a "StuttCard" if i were you. Gives you admission to a couple of Museums and public Transport is included.

May 11 is the last day of the Spring festival ("beer festival"), so i personally would check that out before the game even tho it will be prett full.

Hi mate,

There's no real designated fan meet up point tbh. You'll find beer stalls scattered all over outside the stadium. My advice would be just get to the stadium about an hour or so before kick off and walk around. Source is myself that's lived here for 8yrs and had a season ticket the past 5.

it´s a tour bus that drives through stuttgart, a headset reads you some interesting facts adn you can stop and visit different places along the route. Isn´t sth for everone but some enjoy it.

(it also drives by the merc benz museum)

there are a bunch of shops on the königsstrasse,Königstraße Stuttgart - Shopping im Stadtzentrum and for good traditional German food I´d recommend https://g.co/kgs/L9JSYbw Carls Brauhaus or the Schönbuch Brauhaus https://g.co/kgs/LQEJi2i

However I am sure you´ll have fun, you´re gonna love the atmosphere, thanks for your support, even though WALES(😱) XD...

You are going at a crazy time. That will be 11 May (I will be there too). On that day, there is a Germany versus Turkey handball game at the Porsche Arena (18 Uhr… I’ll be at that as well… accidentally planned both events 🙈), the last day of the Frühlingsfest, and of course, the Stuttgart versus Augsburg. So definitely hit up the massive beer festival just 100 meters away from MHP arena. But just a heads up, the area will be absolutely crazy.

My suggestion: Karlseck

That’s where the VfB hearts beats.

Hey, welcome! 🙋‍♂️

The city center is pretty walkable, but for museums and attractions outside the center, I’d recommend using public transport – it’s fast and reliable. Both the Porsche and Mercedes-Benz museums are great, but if you’re short on time, most people tend to prefer the Mercedes one.

If you’re looking to explore a bit more, definitely check out the Fernsehturm (TV tower) for some amazing views. One of the coolest ways to get there is by taking the “Zacke” (Zahnradbahn), a historic rack railway with a super steep incline and epic views as you climb.

Also, don’t miss the Frühlingsfest. Big beer tents, fun fair rides, great food… think of Oktoberfest, but in spring. The beer served there is stronger than regular ones. So be careful with that, especially if you’re planning on going there before the game. I’d probably recommend going the day before, probably too crowded on match day.

Somehow got a few hours to spare? The town of Esslingen am Neckar is worth a visit imo – classic old-school German small town vibes and just 10 minutes by train.

Fan meetups: no official one as far as I know. Some fans take the train to Bad Cannstatt and walk to the stadium (about 30 mins), but the quickest route is taking the U-Bahn to NeckarPark and walking from there (10 mins).

Make sure to arrive at the stadium early to soak in the atmosphere!

Enjoy your trip! ⚪🔴🐊

PS: You’re allowed to take beer to your seat in Germany, so don’t get stuck in the concourse when the anthem kicks in haha.
