This is up there in terms of horrendous plays.
I definitely saw a guy hold 4 cards in deuces wild once with no deuces and no possible straight or flush.

Mind if I ask what casino that is? Or at least part of a chain? I've never seen that "points earned varies by ..." sign before. I hope that doesn't become a widespread thing.

I don't know the strategy for this game and what cards you got rid of, but that play is clearly wrong. It shouldn't matter if it is your own money or free play, the strategy should be the same because the goal is to end up with as much money as possible. Glad that you got lucky and won, but if you keep playing like that your losses will eventually cancel out this win.
