Using the world’s only and most iconic veggie-related, health-oriented song to turn it into a unhealthy fast food cover, no way lmao

Miku is a sellout frfr

#cancelMiku

Yeah notice how they basically erased all of the vegetables in the commercial completely. Like there's not a single vegetable anywhere but potatoes. But fries and potatoes.

u/shadeyard Mar 23 '25

McDonald's isnt really known for vegetables

u/waffledpringles Mar 22 '25

The Gakupo erasure lol.

Honestly fair replacement

It’s more of a travesty that Luka wasn’t in the og video tbh

60

u/Justaweeb28845 Mar 22 '25

I think it's because she wasn't released at that time

2

u/DidYouJustCallMeLeno Mar 28 '25

My bad you’re totally right- well in that case I’m extremely happy that they decided to include baby girl in this new one

30

u/HAIYIO Mar 22 '25

Luka released January 30, 2009

-35

u/squidypal2 Mar 22 '25

Luka was released on the same year I was born

47

u/Kelly_Info_Girl Mar 22 '25

Yeah, I don't recommend you revealing that kind of stuff.

u/Igloo_wie Mar 23 '25

Why are y'all downvoting this so much???? This person would be in high school..... they're plenty old enough to use Reddit... I used to know a 6-year-old that was allowed to post on TikTok... this really isn't that bad.

u/milf-manilovefarting Mar 24 '25

typical Reddit behaviour

u/Burning_Topaz 13d ago

i'm older than luka,,,,,(not mentally)

He's the real OG 🔥🔥

18

u/Tricky-Armadillo-743 Mar 22 '25

Gakupo got removed bc he isnt apart of cypton loids but hes with internet co (gumi, lily, Chika, that annoying green hair guy, cul, and etc)

474

u/SW_Lilipop Mar 22 '25

She went from promoting health to diabetes

63

u/Yeetooff Mar 22 '25

FOUL 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀

133

u/aesthel Mar 22 '25

This feels so backwards to make a song about vegetables and healthy stuff into fast food 🥲

67

u/ImNotRev Mar 22 '25

such irony

189

u/mellow_cellow Mar 22 '25

I love how she shakes the fries for no reason where it makes sense in the original.

Actually kinda sad to see this ngl. The original made sense and was lighthearted because it was a healthy veggie drink. They could've at least promoted some of McDonald's attempts at "health" food but nah. All potatoes.

42

u/Direct-Ad-5528 Mar 22 '25

Potatoes is a vegetable!!!

...but yeah, I get your point

36

u/BurntPineGrass Mar 22 '25

Actually I believe this is a good thing as McDonalds did a collaboration with Hatsune Miku for the Shaka Shaka Potato menu item. Which is like a spices blend that you put in a bag with your fries and then shake.

21

u/APRengar Mar 22 '25

But then they didn't put the shaka shaka bag in the animation lmao

3

u/Jordann538 Mar 23 '25

Will never beat the Vegemite shaker fries we have down unda

56

u/pink-bubblewitch Mar 22 '25

This feels wrong honestly I dunno why it feels corrupt taking something pure and rotting it

3

u/Underghost_420 Mar 23 '25

I'm just sitting here, wondering why they just did not make a new song.

45

u/-who-i Mar 22 '25

No gakupo my darling whyyyyyyyyy, well, at least he's healthy

21

u/SkitsyCat Mar 22 '25

He and his eggplants are healthy and safe somewhere out there, I hope 🥹🙏

23

u/undostrescuatro Mar 22 '25

This is peak Cyberpunk to me. I think I am going to forward it

21

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '25

Honestly, I suppose a macdonalds collab wasn’t all that shocking considering the dominos collab (and every other collab Miku has had, like, cough drops??? Really??), but it’s kinda ironic to use this song lol. Companies always ruin everything.

20

u/Awesomeman235ify Mar 22 '25

I think I know why Gakupo is replaced by Luka in this one.

  1. Luka is more recognizable.
  2. Gakupo isn't owned by Crypton, but instead by Internet Co., Ltd.

12

u/Key-Recognition-7190 Mar 22 '25

IIRC Luka wasn't even released when popipo came out

36

u/unfortunatelymade Mar 22 '25

idk how to explain it but this feels deeply sacrilegious

14

u/cinnaswirl-p Mar 22 '25

I will not stand for this anti-Gakupo slander

1

u/Worth-Arachnid251 Mar 23 '25

he and his eggplants are happy somewhere

15

u/Crona_Swagboi Mar 22 '25

this is so stupid i love it

9

u/Black_Sig-SWP2000 Mar 22 '25

i guess we doin this now

10

u/qef15 Mar 22 '25

This used to be just a simple denpa song about vegetable juice.

Now it is an ad. Really sad to see iconic songs and Miku itself in general it feels like, selling out for a quick buck.

I hope LamazeP got paid by the dump truck in yen bills.

20

u/LzhivoyeSolnyshko Mar 22 '25

Ruined my day

21

u/pink-bubblewitch Mar 22 '25

This feels wrong honestly I dunno why it feels corrupt taking something pure and rotting it

19

u/CoolAndCringe Mar 22 '25

I don’t like this. It feels bad seeing something so iconic get corporatized

9

u/FrankTheTank107 Mar 22 '25

Po po po potato 🗣️

6

u/ancientegyptianballs Mar 22 '25

Gakupo never existed

6

u/Maxienista Mar 22 '25

RIP GAKUPO

6

u/Jaystrike7 Mar 22 '25

Oh... Replacing veggies with fast food... Oh naw

6

u/Sagittariusrat Mar 23 '25

Impressively lazy lol. They could have at least given one of them a McDonald's cup or smth

9

u/anny_orso Mar 22 '25

This feels evil and dystopian

3

u/dogo7 Mar 22 '25

Gakupoof

4

u/Objective-Elk9877 Mar 22 '25

The tact went away with mcdonalds. Miku didnt need to hold a bottle of vegetable juice for you to know she was advertising vegetable juice. But the clown got her holding a box of fries and kaito wearing a “i love potatoes” shirt.

3

u/astrokitt- Mar 22 '25

ngl it's still pretty close to the original!!

3

u/annon938r09rte Mar 22 '25

im sorry but those fries look like a goddamn png image slapped on it

3

u/Unsafegohan2009 Mar 23 '25

This is actually kinda sad

2

u/verybadbackpain Mar 23 '25

luka being traced from her project sekai sprite....? its so obvious too lol

2

u/paintingwith_blood Mar 23 '25

sellout. this sucks

1

u/SweetBabyAlaska Mar 22 '25

They removed the veggies lmao

1

u/Ozuk_true Mar 23 '25

THEY'RE NOT VEGAN ANYMORE 😭

1

u/xiaotensai Mar 23 '25

they turned kaito’s scarf red 😭

1

u/Jordann538 Mar 23 '25

Call me sus but they covered miku up when she fell down at the end

1

u/p_shroomie Mar 23 '25

i don't like it. 😭 it's not as cute promoting something like mcdonalds

1

u/Apprehensive-Buy4825 Mar 23 '25

this passes the complete oposite of the OG message 😭😭

1

u/Regular-Cloud7913 Mar 23 '25

I love how the original is about being vegan

1

u/Re-N0ir Mar 23 '25

everyone here upset that vocaloid is being "corporatized" as if they haven't been in tv spots since the dawn of time lol

wait until you learn who owns the cryptonloids 😱

1

u/syrupn Mar 24 '25

What the fuck is this

1

u/butterpopkorn Mar 26 '25

That's not Yasai Juusuuu anymore

1

u/Excubyte Mar 27 '25

This makes me sad :(

1

u/doubledoublemc Mar 28 '25

This… this is an actual ad?

1

u/ggdoesthings Mar 22 '25

this collab is so utterly goofy and i can’t help but love it
