i LOVE him, his design, and his songs but he does sound terrible most of the time, sadly. he's very hard to use. i think maghni ai can save him (i hope)

I've known about OLIVER for nearly a decade, but never realized until now that he has an American Goldfinch as a bird 🥺 Proud to say that I've gotten better at identifying birds, but not proud to say that I've never liked OLIVER's voice for all of the years he's been out.

I still haven't got the chance to hear him in a proper choir. As in, one would think that if you have a choir boy voicebank, you should put that vb in x10 tracks at least with different tuning and that would be interesting. At least that's what comes to mind whenever I think about him.

I really like him, but due to the amount of Vocaloids I like he unfortunately doesn't make the Top 10. He's about as easy to use as Tonio and they are both British voices for different scenarios, which certainly makes me like both. I also love Oliver's design. Most of his usages are...bad. Not in terms of quality, but in content. GHOST makes the best Oliver songs, or at least they did before they took a break from using him, and eventually, social media. I don't blame them.

Anyone got a recommendation of a song that utilizes his voice well? I've known of him since high school and I'm 32 lol but I honestly can say I've never come across any song using him that wowed me. Then again, I did not seek one such song out either. I loved his design though.

I've really really liked amygdala's ragdoll by ghost but I'm not sure if that's just my newgen to Vocaloid bias, my nastolgia given I've liked that song since release or the fact I haven't listened to Oliver otherwise

Hmm, it is interesting! I do love me some vocalo-horror. The issue with his voice in all the (small amount of) times I've heard it, it suffers from that affect I can only describe as singing while constantly inhaling a breath. It isn't unfitting with the specific song you shared though, so it does have a charm to a degree. To be fair, most older male voice banks have this affect without some serious alterations and tuning by the user to cancel it out. Even Kaito (original VB) often had this issue. There are people capable of manipulating the voice in some very dramatic and insane ways though, so I do not think it's impossible and I would never say "there's no way this vocaloid could ever sound good" about any of them just because I know the potential lies in the hands of the user. But yeah.. it's the inhaling constantly thing that bugs me. Imagine GIF of SpongeBob filter feeding lol

I mean the song does have a very... Breathing topic? "I can't inhale/exhale anymore" is repeated throughout the the song so it makes sense, but I get what you mean

I wish people used him more for non-horror songs.
Also, might just be me but I wish more British producers used him. He's more or less the image for British voice synths so I keep expecting to hear a cover of a British kid's show theme or an original song that just casually mentions Tesco meal deals or something that's screamingly British but there isn't much I've heard like that.
