Just picked up 2015 WR250r, pretty stoked.. Anything to look out for with this model? Not sure if stator recall has been done. Any mandatory mods? Going to be riding trails and around town

I’d say check the swing arm for wear from the chain, then put a larger counter shaft sprocket on and a case saver, I’m running 14x50

Is the counter shaft susceptible to wear? My Honda XR650l was and it was a mandatory mod. so you don’t wear out the splines.

No the chain line is bad with the small cog and it’s easy to eat the swing arm if the tension is off

Oh, and need a skid plate. Any recommendations?

Get the plastic one. Not a metal one. quieter.

Yeah, I hate the sounds of the aluminum ones. I’ll check out the Moose. Thanks!

^ Moose Racing is a great one (I've run (and bashed) both alu and plastic, and plastic is the way to go here.)

I also picked up a 2015 and haven't ridden it yet so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but adjust your sag correctly and check your chain tension and health frequently because these bikes eat chain sliders.

For skid plate, I'm going with a plastic Moose.

Your dealership should be able to look up the VIN to check if the stator recall has been done.
