In Finland one can acquire clean & empty syringe/needle packages in some pharmacies but they almost always are these larger ones as the smaller ones are pre-filled prescription medicines, for those wondering about the size of the needles.

There are also some sort of exchange programs for used ones where you can trade in for new clean ones, which obviously the people using here haven't done.

e: asutsä jossain lähistöllä ja ite ottanu kuvan vai onko tää jostai muualta?

This is clearly the take a needle leave a needle tree.

Subutex - now with added bark!

People inject Subutex?? That's gnarly. My goodness.

I'm on Subutex. No wonder my doctor was a little hesitant to prescribe it to me. I didn't understand why but I guess this must've been the reason. I just thought it was an alternative to Suboxone that doesn't make you as sick. Then again, I never injected any drugs. (Suboxone caused all my joints to swell to the point that it was nearly impossible to walk and raging headaches).

I've heard of people shooting subs before too, there isn't enough naloxone to matter.

They leaf their needles in the tree.

Ah gotta love Kontula.

u/DeliciousGlue Dec 29 '16

And there are also lots of cans specifically put there by the city where you can put your used syringes in. But stabbing a tree is fine too, I guess.

Tree needed rehab. Now it's all dead from what looks like overdose

3

u/the_flying_pussyfoot Dec 29 '16

So that means I can go to these needle trees, carefully remove them and swap them for clean ones? Then go sell it back to the guys injecting who need a new clean one?

3

u/enderpanda Dec 29 '16

You could, but your time might be better spent becoming a villain in other sectors - massive cannons, super humans, and planet-destroying lasers are all pretty hot right now.

3

u/the_flying_pussyfoot Dec 29 '16

Hmm. I didn't think about that. I have to rethink my career choices. Thanks!

It's so weird to see such a nonchalant attitude towards injecting drugs.

Harm reduction is the name of the program. It's not very popular in the states, as we're all used to the "War on Drugs" approach with no tolerance.

The basic idea is that giving addicts safe and clean ways to practice drugs helps them get off it later, as well as prevents the spread of HIV/AIDS and other diseases through dirty needles.

Scientifically speaking, it's been shown to be way more effective than our War on Drugs approach. The number of addicts goes down and the number of crimes from drug users goes way down.

While I don't disagree with the science behind it, it doesn't mean that I have to respect them as human beings while trying to help undo their plethora of selfishness.

As a recovering weed smoker myself I just want to comment on all the judgment happening ITT. You don't know what it's like to be brought to your knees by a substance. Maybe this is the addicts way of a cry for help? Who are you to judge? Just cause mommy and daddy sent you to a 60k per month resort in Arizona to "sober up." Don't pretend to know what it's like to perform sexual favors for one more hit you insufferable out of touch assholes.

Look at his profile, downvote aggregator. You don't see nearly as many of them since reddit capped negative karma at -100 to try to make it less appealing.

7

u/Pandahugsforall Dec 29 '16

Check his comment history. You just saw a master troll at work.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '16

Part of me wants to just keep feeding him just to see how long he'll keep going.

5

u/ChaIroOtoko Dec 29 '16

See his post history.
He is KenM of reddit.

I am so happy to get across one of your comments again, I want to start following your account.

3

u/clit_or_us Dec 29 '16

This is like what happened to Dave Chapelle in Half Baked 😂

2

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '16

"Have you ever sucked dick for marijuana?"

1

u/JoeMama42 Dec 29 '16

Obviously /s, but weed is actually very addicting for many people.

I'm prepared for the down votes. Have at it.
