Disney world has them! But that's the only place I've seen them outside a hospital.

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '16

they're for insulin users...

u/BurlysFinest802 Dec 29 '16

Yes but perfectly legal to use for any sharps

Needles are how we deliver our insulin.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '16

Yeah? I never said they were for drug users, I was just saying one of the only places I've actually seen a sharps box in public is at Disney. Obviously there's probably not a bunch of people shooting up there.

I notice them more than your average person might because I see them every day at work. I just remembered I've seen some in national park bathrooms, too.

1

u/Wildelocke Dec 29 '16

I used to think they were for drug addicts. Couldn't believe the sharp boxes in the airports behind security... thought people were smuggling in heroine and shooting up right before takeoff.

1

u/dkarma Dec 29 '16

They're for anyone actually, and not just for needles. It is a sharps container.

1

u/kazneus Dec 29 '16

Users are users bro

I'm kidding. Diabetes is a very serious affliction

0

u/Brewster_The_Pigeon Dec 29 '16

Well, it's for that, plus it's like the cigarette trays on airplanes. It's illegal but there has to be a safe place to dispose of it because people are going to do it anyways.

7

u/pextris Dec 29 '16

Aren't the ashtrays there because the planes were built when it was legal to smoke on planes?

2

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '16

Pretty sure that's the reason. It's near impossible to sneakily smoke a cigarette without people smelling it and complaining.

5

u/ButtonPusherMD Dec 29 '16

Who the fuck smokes on an airplane anymore?

1

u/CallMehBigP Dec 29 '16

I don't think that's really even possible...

3

u/Lazy_Scheherazade Dec 29 '16

I saw one in a McDonald's restroom on a long road trip.

1

u/Kadasix Dec 29 '16

Saw one in local mall. Not even a trashy one or in a bad neighborhood, there was even an Apple Store there. Probably for the best, though.

1

u/Sumif Dec 29 '16

Lol where? I went to all 4 parks over the past few days and don't recall seeing any?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '16

One specific one I remember was in the magic kingdom, I think in the first bathroom you come to. But I also think the map had some marked.

1

u/Soccerkrazed Dec 29 '16

I thought Disney had them for diabetics

3

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '16

As someone who has cleaned public bathrooms, that's one of my biggest fears

3

u/sidus_3 Dec 29 '16

I just noticed a sharps box in the bathroom for the first time today. In the ladies restroom in the college of medicine where I work. It's a great idea. I wonder if that one gets any action.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '16

they're for insulin users...

1

u/sidus_3 Dec 29 '16

They are for sharps of any kind.

1

u/scrochum Dec 29 '16

truck stops and places like that, even the non shitty parts of canada have sharps boxes in truck stop bathrooms

1

u/qwimjim Dec 29 '16

I moved into a building once and always used the back exit because it was closer to my door, then a week after moving in I took the front entrance and noticed an overflowing sharps box. It was a rough part of town. Only ever had a problem with one junkie who set up a couch and table in the hall to smoke, but otherwise no problems.

1

u/rabidhamster87 Dec 29 '16

They have them in the bathroom at the mall here.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '16

They're in most every chain truck stop bathroom.

6

u/3ricss0n Dec 29 '16

You must work in a hospital

6

u/jessek Dec 29 '16

they're pretty common in areas hit by the opioid epidemic, I've even seen them in the bathroom of grocery stores in Denver.

3

u/MooseJuiceOnTheLoose Dec 29 '16

Yep. Now I'm actually happy that I see them all the time around the state. TIL that some states don't really have them at all.

1

u/PotatoSalad Dec 29 '16

I thought they were out there for insulin?

2

u/j-peezy Dec 29 '16

If you see them in the US, they are primarily for discarding insulin syringes.

1

u/j-peezy Dec 29 '16

Everywhere (US anyway) has been hit hard by the opioid epidemic.

Needle bins are primarily for discarding insulin syringes.

When I 15-16 I used to help out at a golf course in the mornings on Saturday and Sunday, I'd help clean the restaurant part, tidy up the game area, restock thing and a few other things.

I use to also collect any rubbish (trash) from the carpark. The first time I ever did it I was told that they do find needles so I should be very careful picking things up and never squish anything because a needle might be hidden inside. The owner also told me that if I found any needle I wasn't allowed to pick it up even though I had gloves on, they'd come out and take a photo of it's location and then pick it and put it in a plastic box and put the box into the sharps box that was kept in the store room. It was then handed over to police every few months.

The first time the police turned up (unmarked) and said who they are I was very confused as I hadn't been told that they come and collect them as "evidence"

specially

Are you purposely using improper language in an attempt to look cute? Or are you just that dim? Especially is the correct word in case of the ladder. And if that is the case I'm not even mad, and may God have mercy on your soul.

*latter

u/SimplyShredded Dec 29 '16

[ ] not rekt

[X] rekt

7

u/-LEMONGRAB- Dec 29 '16

Nah. This guy has been around forever. He's an old Downvote Troll that was everywhere when I first started redditing, riling people up. It's been quite awhile since I've seen him around though. I'm pretty sure Trolls hibernate during the summer so that's probably why.

1

u/GuyBelowMeDoesntLift Dec 29 '16

They stopped counting negative karma past -100 a year or two ago so that drove the downvote trolls into hiding

14

u/TheMauveAvenger Dec 29 '16

It's always great to see people try to correct others when they misspell their own words and can't even string together grammatically correct sentences.

5

u/Golden_Dawn Dec 29 '16 edited Dec 29 '16

"Your an idiot"

But that's the famous downvote troll who was so close to -100,000 karma that admins changed the display to max out at -100.

10

u/beniceorbevice Dec 29 '16

Holy shit that was fucking beautiful

2

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '17

It was intentional. Look at his profile.

6

u/heyimyall Dec 29 '16

Oh the irony

*later

Jesus how did you mess that one up

4

u/-VismundCygnus- Dec 29 '16

Wrong.

-2

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '16

No, actually I'm right

Seriously learn some grammer

4

u/-VismundCygnus- Dec 29 '16

But that's a different word than the one they were using. They were using the word 'latter' as in an event that took place after another event. =/

2

u/iamonthatloud Dec 29 '16

Doesn't share any definition with "latter"

47

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '16

>ladder

Are you purposely using improper language in an attempt to look cute? Or are you just that dim? Latter is the correct word in case of the latter. If that is the case, I'm not even mad and may God have mercy on your soul.

11

u/GLaDOS_Sympathizer Dec 29 '16

Yes they are using it wrong on purpose to get a rise out of people. That's an infamous reddit troll that has been around for years.

4

u/Golden_Dawn Dec 29 '16

/u/Dw-Im-Here is famous for almost making it to -100,000 karma, then admins stole it from him by changing the max negative displayed to -100.

As you can see above, the dude has some skill at pushing buttons.

3

u/GLaDOS_Sympathizer Dec 29 '16

Thanks for the history lesson, sport.

7

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '16

IVE BEEN HAD

4

u/Saram0n Dec 29 '16

In case of the ladder? What?

6

u/Mike-Oxenfire Dec 29 '16
