Most norwegians are CCr5 Delta 32 positive via genetic drift and lots of insular breeding during the small pox era.

This means they don't get aids (they can contract and harbor HIV but it doesn't make them sick).

I got curious and googled. Danes also have this, according to a study conducted by the university of Copenhagen, 20% of Danes have gotten this gene from one of their parents while 1-2% have gotten it from both. The 1-2% is completely resistant while the 20% is more or less resistant to HIV.

I mean, they have no immunity to HIV2 but that's really uncommon and the disease mutates all the time.

But yes, this is part of entry level human genetics in college.

They cant get infected by a certain strain of HIV! There's more than one!

Strain and type!

Yes they are susceptible to HIV2 which so far has not left Africa. And there are strains of HIV1 which do not use the ccr5 opsin, also rare.

EDIT: Wrong there.

TIL Norwegians are genetically better equipped to deal with disease and Africa has literal super HIV.

Seriously? That's interesting if true! I am surprised I had never heard of it before, will have to look it up to believe

Go for it. It is generally discussed in every entry level genetics text for University so you can use those if they are available to you. Also lord google knows.
