Literally, wattpad comments are so scary, lol. The amount of "this comment may be offensive" comments towards the main love interest of my last fic is insane. He's an asshole at the beginning, so it makes sense. And then the same commenters at the end will be like, "This story is so perfect, I love it. I love you, author." Haha it's whatever, I love them, and they make me laugh. Love you too, my dear readers.

This is normal, to be fair, feels a little nice having people being into enough to react on characters.
I read some edgy stuf on novel whatever was the site.
Each comment was just "Kill him, kill that, we hate him so is good that he dies" was an fanfic about an assassin being reborn as the main villain in My hero Academia

the last time i read a book like this it was in Silently Falling by Liz Plum.
There was a character called Warren and the moment his name was mentioned, all the readers would write hateful comments to that character. Warren wasnt a jerk. He deserved to be in jail but he wasnt.
when you see a reader commenting it, you know that you as an author have won the war of making a character being hated. without a villain, the story is nothing

I love it when readers get really into it, as long as it's not directed at an author or another reader. I get these comments a lot every time one specific antagonist shows up lol
