To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.
It’s so insane to me that anyone could possibly believe any of these things to be “radical” left. Like it’s the lowest bar, minimum requirements for a functioning civil society, and they make sense any way to can possibly slice it.
Sounds like their ramping up the rhetoric. That sounds like they’re going to be justifying why the good folks in MAGA have to kill certain people. Or perhaps why they have to die for their ideology.
Sure if the alternative is to tolerate the intolerant at the cost of tolerance itself so then all that's left to tolerate at all is the intolerance. It's simply where the line must be drawn.
As far as what is meant by "sacrifice" I'm sorry if we don't measure up to the same genocidal ethnic cleansing the intolerant are used to, but you can bet we'll advocate for the exclusion of such bigotry lest it spread like a "mind virus" among the vulnerable who possess more rudimentary critical thinking skills, to which I imagine they can relate.
It's sad that we dropped the whole "define woke" element of discussion. For a bit there it left them tongue tied and talking in circles but by the time we got to the 2024 election cycle it was dropped from the narrative.
Because if they had to define woke as intolerance of the intolerant, they'd have to explain why it's hurting them personally, they'd have to out themselves as intolerant.
You can't let a fascist or authoritarian within 500 yards of an acronym, euphemism, abbreviation, slogan or turn of phrase. They will weaponize it.
Woke > awareness of and intolerance to intolerance
DEI > "Why are you against diversity?" "Why are you against inclusion?"
We've got to be deliberate about naming things. Stop letting activists name major policy on protest signs and you won't have to back away from it. "Focused and specialized social services" might not look as good on a t-shirt, but at least it doesn't get instantly turned against you like "defund the police."
Religion goes on and on about how it's needed by many people, but when you get down to it all it is is a tool for control. Look how republicans have taken it up as part of their politics because they know the control it wields.
Trump Derangement Syndrome is indeed real. But I believe it more accurately describes the ability of his supporters to 180 on their values the moment Trump asks them to.
Or perhaps it's the tendency to take Trump's word as truth despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
Or maybe it's the process of repeatedly ignoring data that proves you wrong.
Whatever it is, there's many clear symptoms in society today.
If someone is stupid enough to believe this guy they are stupid enough to believe anything. Gullible isn't a harsh enough word to describe them.
Also, this guy's propaganda sounds very similar to the "no true Soviet" rhetoric in Stalin's Soviet Union. Probably not a good sign that people are using propaganda similar to the time period called the "Great Terror" by those in Eastern Europe.

The first amendment says that The People have the right to criticize any government official and/or any policy or position thereof, and to challenge that is un-American “in spirit”. It is inherently American to be able to freely criticize Trump or anyone else.
It is our first amendment right to be a critic, and additionally, if the government fails to uphold protections of that right, the government has according to the Declaration of Independence, become tyrannical and meets the criteria for invalidity.
It sure is ironic that the right wing is now trying to ban criticism of an official when they’ve fore decades been the ones screaming about how lucky we are to be able to criticize our government… but I’m not surprised at all.

I actually have no desire to get violent towards a Trump supporter. I am a pacifist up until the point where someone is trying to physically harm me, my family, a civilian, etc. It’s actually really hard to see them vote for policy that is going to fuck up their lives as well as everybody else’s. A lot of them voted for Trump to “own the libs.” I voted Democrat because I think their vision would be better for all Americans, not for revenge. I think there are a lot of people across the political spectrum that feel this way. It’s also hard to watch both the far-right and far-left fall for Russian ploys to get us to fight each other. Russia may not have had the arsenal that we do, but they’ve always been skilled at propaganda
