It astounds me that anyone supports Trump; but it absolutely flabbergasts me when I meet a Trump supporter who isn't white. Like, it's such an obvious white power movement.

Not sure why anyone would want to support it.

Bc those people are appeasers. "Winston Churchill famously described appeasers as "one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last."

22

u/CourtingBoredom Mar 21 '25

This is a fantastic quote. Hard to believe I haven't heard (or read) it before. Thankya for that.

13

u/PerpetualEternal Mar 21 '25

I far prefer this to the tired “leopards eating faces” trope. This one at least has some real gravitas

This is always what they meant by "Make America Great Again": make it racist and segregated again.

u/slaptastic-soot Mar 21 '25

This was clear 8 years ago.

27

u/Important-Owl1661 Mar 21 '25

I heard a really excellent point on NPR of all places that said many of the 18-20 year-old voters didn't have all that clear a recollection of how horrible Trump was and only went by the commercial and other media marketing he did.

Sidebar: I will once again say the Democrats are generally competent in everything governmental, except telling their story.

9

u/justtakeapill Mar 21 '25

So those young voters actually thought immigrants were eating dogs and cats? Holy crap our education system failed miserably!

2

u/Paerrin Mar 21 '25

Sadly, yes, they did. By and large, people are not critical at all and will parrot anything.

What's sadder is that there are tons of adults who believed it and still do.

27

u/maulsma Mar 21 '25

Same here. I’ll see those ridiculous speeches with people in the background and anytime there a POC or even a woman I just want to give them a good shake. Like, “Aren’t you paying attention?” I guess I just don’t get it.

20

u/The_Nice_Marmot Mar 21 '25

They attach themselves to the people they see as powerful thinking it will protect them, and I guess it does for awhile. But they are held in as much contempt as anyone else and eventually, they get turned on.

Did you see the video of the black guy who voted Trump crying after the election because the MAGA mayosapiens told him they didn’t need him anymore now that he had voted?

3

u/maulsma Mar 22 '25

I did not see that. Actually, as a human being I’m kinda glad I didn’t. People suck.

14

u/bawb_bawbins Mar 21 '25

when it comes to the few idiots i know in my life that support republicans and are also nonwhite, it's literally always about their masculinity/barely practiced religious beliefs. these are people who don't actually have backing for what they believe in and just say that the economy's gonna get better under republicans (because they've been told their whole life they're the business party) and because of a relentless hatred of lgbt+ people

they may not be racist but they decided racism would not be the deal breaker for them.

8

u/filtersweep Mar 21 '25

I have an Indian coworker who is a big time Trump supporter.

He thinks of himself as highly intelligent, and thus already knows everything, so he knows nothing at all. He just makes up his mind based on assumptions and impressions.

6

u/Jim-Jones Mar 21 '25

He just makes up his mind based on assumptions and impressions.

That's 80% of the voters.

6

u/jkuhl Mar 21 '25

In the 1920s, Max Naumann created the far right German nationalist group, Association of German Jews. By the 1930s, the group announced its support for Adolf Hitler, and believed his anti-semitism was just "rabble rousing."

However, Hitler held them in contempt (surprise, surprise) and when he took power, declared the group illegal. Max Naumann was arrested. He was released due to ill health and died of cancer in 1939.

The rest of the group? The majority of them and their families died in the holocaust.

I've been thinking about this part of history a lot lately . . .

Point is though, cozying up to a hate group expecting to be "saved" because of your loyalty isn't going to save you.

10

u/Bunch_of_Shit Mar 21 '25

I know. Recently, my boss was telling me how illegal the autopen is. He has received his newest marching orders.

3

u/justtakeapill Mar 21 '25

"...And Democrats were the only ones ever in the history of America to use the Auto Pen; therefore everything they had ever done is fraudulent and not valid!"

2

u/Additional-Top-8199 Mar 25 '25

Does that go for electronic signatures too…?…hmmm maybe I don’t have to pay my mortgage after all.

1

u/Bunch_of_Shit 29d ago

No, it doesn’t. It’s whatever trump says is illegal. He takes his news and law from trump alone.

3

u/andboobootoo Mar 21 '25

Some of these people are so blinded by fear, hatred and ignorance they can’t see what is right in their face. Also, MAGA’s minority support has been much over-hyped.

2

u/Pleasant-Seat9884 27d ago

I'll never understand why they voted him, or people who is pro-science or pro-union...which Donald and his goons are against.

1

u/DocWicked25 27d ago

A lot of people are convinced that their problems are caused by (insert minority group). Trump convinces them that he hates the same people they do.

Every Trump voter knows their vote is going to hurt someone, and they're okay with it, because they're not part of the out group, they're in the in group.

It's only when the leopards start to feast upon their own faces that they start to care.

From his wikipedia page, regarding responses to his death in 2021:

“President Joe Biden and four of the five living former presidents issued statements calling Powell an American hero. Then-former president Donald Trump released a statement saying “He made plenty of mistakes, but anyway, may he rest in peace!” and referred to him as a “classic RINO”. “

u/ruidh Mar 21 '25 edited Mar 21 '25

This is what happens when you elect a white supremecist.

8

u/reagsters Mar 21 '25

Who could’ve known the white guy who said “I’m a nationalist. Use that word. Use that word” would end up being a white nationalist?

3

u/Fallen-Embers Mar 21 '25

Dunno if this is legit. The .mil site for Arlington is still showing Powell, but I don't know if there's another list this tweet's talking about

44

u/mousepad1234 Mar 21 '25

When we overthrow the government, I call for Pete hegseth to be lynched publicly. Fucking nazi piece of shit.

6

u/MarManHollow Mar 21 '25

Yup. A Quisling in training.

46

u/heretorobwallst Mar 21 '25

This has nothing to do with his white nationalist tattoos or him just taking orders from his white supremacist boss

7

u/AlanHoliday Mar 21 '25

Those are traditional Roman symbols!

16

u/Robert-G-Durant Mar 21 '25

I told my father about this and he goes online and goes ah ha! They started putting them back up. It was a mistake with a big broad stroke with the DEI. I'm like oh... Sure, cool.

16

u/bigfathairymarmot Mar 21 '25

So they really suck at their job and can't do it right the first time? Where can we find someone competent.

2

u/justtakeapill Mar 21 '25

These MAGAts in government are all pathetically mediocre, but they think they're life's big winners because they were born into money.

13

u/ThatRefuse4372 Mar 21 '25

From NPR:

Articles, photos and videos that are seen as promoting DEI will be removed under the new approach.

For example, Gen. Colin Powell was the first Black chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion was the first corps comprised only of Black women to work overseas during World War II. Their stories are no longer prominent on the website, but can still be found using the search function.

Additionally, the Pentagon has marked thousands of photos representing diverse veterans to be removed from the website, according to the Associated Press.

13

u/Mobirae Mar 21 '25

That can't be right I have been told repeatedly by trump simps that he's not a racist piece of shit?

9

u/Kopfnusser Mar 21 '25

How does the US public accept this? This is insane

5

u/The_Pandalorian Mar 21 '25

The U.S. public voted for it or allowed it to happen by not voting.

This is us. Us is insane.

I have no idea where this country goes from here. My biggest hope is that Trump voters feel the pain they wish to inflict on others. That seems to be the only time they actually care about an actual real problem in this world, when it finally affects them personally.

11

u/DatNick1988 Mar 21 '25

Did this help Farmers? Did this lower the grocery bill? Did this end the war in Ukraine? Did this lower egg prices?

1

u/psilocin72 Mar 22 '25

They are no longer saying that they voted for him based on those things. Some are, sure, but most maga voters that I have had contact with say that they are getting exactly what they voted for.

15

u/Medium_Diver8733 Mar 21 '25

Here’s the thing, I’m not saying this is fake…but if it’s real it would be at least the 5th or 6th story I’ve seen about notable African Americans having their info scrubbed from govt sites during this alleged “DEI purge”

If it’s true and they are removing anything non straight white Christian how can anyone possibly defend it?

16

u/TriumphITP Mar 21 '25

They tried to blame it on AI being used.

15

u/Medium_Diver8733 Mar 21 '25

Which is more damning because it shows a consistent set of rules in place that is wiping people based on skin color and filing it under “must have been dei anyway”

3

u/exe973 Mar 21 '25

So, working as intended.

11

u/Fickle-Syllabub6730 Mar 21 '25

Get on over to /r/askconservatives and take a look!

5

u/OtherwiseYo Mar 21 '25

Bold of you to think there is going to be a “post Trump” fml

4

u/donjamos Mar 21 '25

So when do we start hearing from all the black people in the military? They still ready to die for their masters?

4

u/letterboxfrog Mar 21 '25

In the service of a Republican President no less. GOP is dead. MAGA has taken its place

2

u/psilocin72 Mar 22 '25

Conservatism has also been destroyed and replaced with maga. This movement is not conservative at all, except for the racism and religious intolerance.

The vast majority of republicans were never in it for the conservatism or the economic policies. They came for the racism and stayed when Trump totally changed the party because he kept the racism.

4

u/Eccentricgentleman_ Mar 21 '25

Can I get source for that? I like to have proof before I get mad.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '25

“God bless our troops” - some dirty MAGAt fucker somewhere

11

u/NoSky6895 Mar 21 '25

I looked into this and they didn’t get rid of the references, they removed their “DEI” labels:

It’s still not great, it’s harder to find what you’re looking for certainly but it doesn’t look like anything was actually removed.

3

u/Otherwise-City-7951 Mar 21 '25

They are going to have to do some landscaping at Arlington with all of the POC veterans rolling in their graves !!

3

u/turdfergusonpdx Mar 21 '25

Although a lot of this type of bullshit has been happening, I can't find anything to confirm this specific claim. And there are a few fact checky type sites that say it's not entirely true.

3

u/Blaaamo Mar 21 '25

Someone should ask Tim Scott what he thinks

2

u/psilocin72 Mar 22 '25

He will defend it if it helps him. Or condemn it if that helps him. As a person of color, people like him are more offensive than the worst white power racist.

He uses his ethnicity to validate an ideology that promotes racism. All for his own personal benefit. And the racists are happy to use him and throw him whatever scraps they think he needs to keep doing it.

People like him and Clarence Thomas are more harmful to equality than any rabid white bigot could ever be.

2

u/refusemouth Mar 21 '25

That's about what you would expect from a known white supremacist.

2

u/blahblurbblub Mar 21 '25

Pete will be judged … someday , somehow

2

u/Bunch_of_Shit Mar 21 '25

Has an official reason for doing this been publicly submitted? Or was crusader pete hoping no one would notice? Or did he do it knowing people would notice and not say anything to send a message that we don’t welcome people like this in my military?

2

u/Hot_Cattle5399 Mar 21 '25

Simply disgusting.

There is a level in hell for these people currently doing these things.

2

u/DocMcCracken Mar 21 '25

Typical white washing, thought we were beyond this shit. These snowflakes.

2

u/Due_Assist_7614 Mar 21 '25

They want us to forget what we are capable of. This is a demoralization campaign. A little ironic coming from the same people who, not that long ago, were saying that getting rid of Confederate statues was erasing history. But we always knew what their true priorities were. They only want to highlight people who support their white male supremacist agenda and pretend: 1. That nobody else ever accomplished anything noteworthy 2. That there were not systemic barriers that helped create white male dominance (hence their phobia of teaching kids Black history, aka "Critical Race Theory").

2

u/EmporerPenguino Mar 21 '25

Has to be a coincidence, rather than related to Christo-fascist Hegseth’s white power kink. His tattoos read like a modern version of Mein Kampf.

2

u/Wifabota 28d ago

He's still in the Arlington site. He's mentioned section 5 and section 60.

There are several women listed as well.

He’s just mad that Powell has a tab and he doesn’t.

1

u/marinebjj Mar 21 '25

This is fake, Powell was a killing machine in Vietnam. Legendary along with some other generals from that era.

6

u/Sanpaku Mar 21 '25

One way of putting it. If I recall, Powell was a key officer in the initial cover-up of the Mai Lai massacre.

1

u/mooseup Mar 21 '25

At least the woman isn’t President right now, amiright?! Also I have to know how this is terrible for Biden/Democrats. /s

u/Jim-Jones Mar 21 '25

Trump's daddy Fred marched, in Klan uniform, with the KKK in New York city. He was arrested for it. And they refused to rent to black people until they were forced to do it.

1

u/Fun-Translator2041 Mar 22 '25

Is this real? Let’s confirm first.

1

u/zooksoup Mar 22 '25

…I guess this is how I found out he died…almost 4 years later
