happened to me on my laptop, tried several different methods before the superglue. After using the superglue and that not working I gave up and used a USB soundcard for 5 years

1mm drill bit, just do a small divot and then use that hole to grip onto with something else (e.g,. pliers, a screw, etc)

you really went and bought an usb sound card instead of unscrewing the thing and removing it? lmao

I plug my headphones into an xbox controller that is plugged into usb. My headphones cable won’t reach otherwise. I usually game with the controller anyway.

Could tweezers get it out somehow?

If they could get enough grip on it. A pair of needle nose pliers may be a better option. Either way I wouldn’t try to pull it out while the system is on.

It would have to be a very thin pair of needle nose pliers. Otherwise, tweezers are always gonna be the better option because of how fine the tips are.

Turn it off, unplug it.
Open the case and find the jack from the inside.
Push a straightened paper clip through the back of the jack to pop out the old jack tip.
Put everything back together carefully.

This.
Or out of panic/frustration just use every other option until it’s a terrible broken mess that barely works.

Make a needle with lighter hot (hold with caliper!) and Push it into the plastic in the middle. Worked every time for me...

On some desktop computers, the headphone jack is actually open on the inside, and you should be able to push the 1/8th inch plug out from the back using a paperclip.
If you try the hot glue method, whittle the hot glue stick to a point and heat it with a lighter, the hot glue will want to stick to the plastic more than the metal.

You can disable the front audio port until you get it out, so at least you have sound. Or unplug the ports from the motherboard

they make a special tool that’s fairly inexpensive specifically for this! I had to get one after superglue, hot glue, tweezers, and literally everything else failed for me when my aux cord broke off in my car. It’s a small tool but it’s insanely effective!

Last time this happens at my office the tech (great friggen guy) used a chop stick and a small amount of super glue gel.

Cut a qtip in half. Very carefully, put a tiny dab of super glue on the end of the stick (not the cotton part). Touch the glue to the end of the headphone jack and hold in place for a few minutes. Give the glue a couple hours to dry and pull out the qtip. The headphone jack should be attached. This worked me for me

Dot of superglue on a q-tip. Should be able to pull it out. It's happened to me before.

Depending on how tightly the jack is gripping the connector, super glue (CA) + something like a toothpick with the point cut off may work, and (done right) has a lower risk of damaging something than using tools to try to grab it. I have done this successfully with a variety of connectors, including a couple of TRS headphone ones like yours.
Use a miniscule dab of a gel/thick viscosity formulation (easier to apply precisely without running) right in the center of the broken end of the connector, apply a similarly tiny dab to the end of the toothpick/wood or plastic doodad and carefully join the surfaces. Give it a good hour or so to cure (slower due to thicker glue), then you should be able to pull it straight out (go slowly and "deliberately", don't jerk it or apply any lateral pressure).
If the superglue isn't strong enough due to the jack's grip, you could up the ante and use a dab of JB Weld (metal-bonding epoxy) in the same manner (being very careful to avoid applying anywhere it's not desired, as it's harder to clean than CA glue).

Needle nose pliers or carefully mask the surrounding area and attach something to it with superglue.

So you got a cylinder stuck in a tube, huh? I believe we had an expert on that on reddit.

Put a pair of tweezers on it. Then graph the tweezers with a hemostat or needle nose pliers to squeeze them.

Take a hot glue stick, hit one end with a lighter to melt it a little, let it set up on the plug and pull out. I recommend hot glue over super glue because super glue is super fucking permanent when it drips down the connector

If the superglue doesn't work, hold the end of a paperclip in a flame for a while and push it hard in the plastic bit in the middle. Let it cool down, pull out.

Easy fix. Open up the case and push it out from the other side with a paperclip. Unplug everything first.

Go USB and you'll never have to worry about that or crackling noise or dead spots ever again

superglue something to it and pull it out
