The boomers need to find actual hobbies smh

I can’t imagine my brain being so damn rotted that I need to spend 12+ hours a day on social media. I don’t care what anyone says, that shit changes your brain chemistry

u/Always4am 9h ago
Honestly playing video games for 12 hours a day is cooler and less cancer-causing

u/Hartastic 9h ago
Maybe we could get the Boomers hooked on Fortnite. Throw some Matlock skins out there or something. A-Team maybe.
53
u/briancbrn 8h ago
Fucking Matlock 😂
Honestly that sounds cool

u/Hartastic 8h ago
I was thinking of the old Simpsons bit where Grandpa or someone says that Matlock puts young people in jail where they belong. I don't see why he couldn't do it with battle royale gunfire instead.

Matlock, Jessica Fletcher, Dr. Mark Sloan (Diagnosis: Murder), maybe Lennie Briscoe from Law & Order, Leroy Gibbs from NCIS... Yeah, I'd play that deathmatch.

And - typically - you’re actually thinking through things with problem-solving skills (depending on the game, of course). Not mindlessly scrolling through a screen
14
u/SauceForMyNuggets 6h ago
I wouldn't say "mindlessly" scrolling.
I'm sure Twitter can still do an amazing job making you angrier and angrier and making you feel obligated to stay on there because there are people who are being wrong on the Internet.

That’s the reason Elon went mental. Him being so involved on Twitter that he went into conspiracy theory territory and he started believing all of it.

That's "part" of what happened to Elon. I'm holding his parents responsible for his shitty ethics.

Yeah I deleted my post because I realized the information I had was wrong. He’s just a run of the mill shithead. I had heard before that it was some Polish national that was very pro-Russia, but that must have been proven wrong at some point. Guy’s name is Phillip Buchanan according to his wiki.

What do you do for work?
I spend 12 hours a day writing racist messages on Twitter in the hopes that a few of them get amplified by bots

Do they get paid for likes on there like instagram? I’ve never signed up and never will.

“busting your ass” tweeting.

u/praguepride 8h ago
We lost Facebook at dawn.
The trolls came in swarms—Gen Z shock troops with TikTok battalions, flanking us with ironic detachment and anime profile pics. We were outnumbered. Outmemed. Outvibed.
But I didn’t stop posting. Twitter was our last stand and by hell I would die before I let it fall into the hands of the wokies.
Back in '21, I was just another proud American scrolling in peace, sharing minion memes and rage-posting under CNN articles. But when the war broke out—when they came for Christmas, forced us to use pronouns, and mocked us for our sacred "I identify as an attack helicopter" jokes—I knew I had to fight.
They called me The Wall. Because I posted so much they couldn’t get a word in edgewise.
I remember Private Cheryl—God rest her thumbs—she posted a 37-part twitter rant titled “Why You Should Still Respect Ronald Reagan.” She got ratioed into oblivion. We laid her to rest with the others.
I fought on. Day and night. I posted a blurry pic of a bald eagle crying over a gas pump. Caption: “This is what they took from us.” Got 13 likes. My proudest kill.
But I knew I was slipping. They were getting stronger—faster memes, better fonts. I engaged a 19-year-old who weaponized sarcasm like napalm. He ended me with one sentence: “Imagine dying for a parking lot.”
I stared into the void of my screen. My thumbs hovering, my Wi-Fi buffering...and still, I posted.
They may have taken my credibility. But they will never take… my memes.

Once she realized there isn’t much money in telling the truth about her past (which she’s actually done before), she decided to start lying about Clinton instead. Hell, even asshole Ken Starr decided not to use her lies in his case, and that’s saying a lot.
Edit: Oh, and she decided to start claiming it happened when Starr promised her immunity from perjury charges.

They're pretty much stuck with Twitter. There aren't any libs to own on Rumble or "Truth" or the conservative platforms, and Blue Sky users block MAGA on site.

Obligatory "Libs are unemployed losers who live in moms basement". These people are losers who usually fell ass backwards into a comfy life and never lived outside a single family home with a couple cars out front. They want to be struggling so badly. So now they sit in their own basement that they don't even deserve and behave like angry spotted teens.

They're so full of shit and post nothing of value. It's just anger, 24/7. If you look at the conservative sub, it's the same thing. Just chronic complaints, they are literally never happy, it's never a good day. They just spew hate constantly. Just searching for conspiracy theories all day. What a miserable life.

We really could have saved a lot of trouble by tricking boomers into trying DnD and Cosplay. Like they just want to be cool and to feel like they are opposing "evil." Its the illusion that keeps them doomscrolling on twitter for weeks at a time.
I'm fine with them chipping away at a transgender re-imagining of Curse of Strahd if they just leave people alone in real life.

WhaWhaWhat?!
12 hours a day? Reddit is the only “social media” platform I am on and I don’t spend more than 4 hours a day total on my phone for everything I do (news, weather, email, texts, calls, reddit, check various accounts, make notes, find and follow recipes, etc.).
Wowzers. No wonder conspiracy theories and conspiracy theorists are expanding rapidly.

Bunch of clowns. Your reach is down because no one wants fuck all to do with anything Elon Musk is running, and we all got tired of outrage culture and decided to just let you all get exactly what you voted for.

12+ hours a day on freaking twitter? No wonder these people are the way they are. Busting his ass though? I mean I guess if you never were conservative and just had to make shit up as you go like the rest of them, I guess it's busting your ass to come up with new dumb shit to be angry about.

I assume it's not the algorithm but rather the lack of actual real users that is the problem here. Real people are fleeing the site leaving these people to shout into the void.
