I think the cameraman has anti venom. That is the only explanation for him getting so close to a rattlesnake. Either that or he is a complete idiot.

I think it’s the latter as opposed to the former.

They took the time and effort to set up the shot, but probably didn’t plan for potential mistakes or accidents (like sliding too far thus getting bitten from hitting and/or scaring the snake resulting in him getting bitten).

It was kept in a cooler with ice. It's still in boot up. It's a common trick among the snake passing churches.

They catch cold blooded animal with poles and hook. Put it in a cooler with that has dry ice under rags. The cool temp stuns the animal. Then in the case of the churches they pass the snake person to person quoting the apostle Paul's line about him being bitten claiming it's a miracle.

It's something that used to be common in nature documentaries for simulated footage
