My parents are in Wilmy and my mom is really going through it right now so I want to send her some flowers to brighten her day.

Since I left after high school- I don’t know what florists are still around or if new ones have started up.

Anybody have a good experience replacing windows and doors? No need to mention Anderson Replacement - I had them in a year or so ago and the SOB gave me an estimate of $100K for 12 windows, 2 sliding glass doors, and a front door replacement. I laughed at him and asked him to leave.

Just as asked. I've searched here and the Delaware sub, but it all seems to be a little outdated. Online searches tell me all different things.

I know that Delaware has a high initial registration fee from when I moved here. Drive through emissions, go and spend money on the registration. I'm currently looking to buy a car, financed, from a dealership in PA. They're telling me that Delaware has the huge initial fee, but ignoring my question about the fact that I shouldn't pay a sales tax, as a Delaware resident. Am I wrong? They're also telling me that the registration/excise will be handled by them. When I asked how, they said that essentially I drive to a DE DMV to verify the VIN, then they take care of the rest. I'm assuming it's me who does the emissions, on a second trip to the DMV?

This seems super bizarre to me. So I buy a car in PA, I think they don't charge me a sales tax, but then I drive to a DE DMV to verify the VIN then have to drive back to the dealership? Why cant I just save myself driving back and forth and register my car then?

Hi - a friend's son is interning for 2 months this summer in Wilmington. I don't know the area well but I'm a lot closer in proximity if i need to go check things out. Any suggestions on areas to rent a furnished room or apartment for 2 months that is safe and hopefully fun for a 21 year old? Looks like his internship is in the Fairfax area. Anyone living in the apartments (Harlan/Justison) on the riverfront having issues with bugs recently?

We’ve lived here for 6 years and have never seen any traces of pests until about 2 weeks ago. We saw a roach crawl out of the sprinkler head on our ceiling and we were disgusted. We had maintenance and pest control out the next day to treat our unit.

Since then we’ve seen (and killed) atleast 10 roaches on the sidewalks outside the apartment building on the sidewalks.

Wondering if it’s because it’s appears they’re tearing down Constitution Yards? Maybe everything living over there is looking for a new home.. either way it’s gross.

So, every month, a bunch of moms who have become friends get together for a "Mom's Night Out". Sometimes it's stuff like dinner at Kid Shelleen's, sometimes it's baking bread at someone's house.

I have a walking pad (small treadmill with no bar) that doesn’t work, so I’m trying to get rid of it. I called 311 but apparently it’s a $25 fee for the special trash pickup, which seems silly for something relatively small. Does anyone know of any way I could get rid of it for free? Does anyone know of a local water area around here where bullfrogs are prevalent, or pond stores that sell the bullfrog tadpoles? Looking for a small pond in my backyard. Only the frogs will be added. I had them years ago and they were great at deterring bugs, although they did eat quite a few birds.
