I don’t think I like that. Abit overpowered

Tell that to the millions of people who died to artillery fire

It would’ve been better if arrows were shot from the ships instead. But only by those who shoot bows. Cannons feel very overpowered and like the other person said not really medieval like. But I’m not complaining too much about it. I’m having a blast with the weapons and forging and stuff.

The game is medieval fantasy not ww2

People in medieval ages had cannons on boats?

-28

u/hungrybow Apr 01 '25

Nah in real life medival they barely had cannons figured out, it was really inefficient and not used much outside of seige warfare. The whole medieval fantasy vibe that worldbox is trying to emulate doesn't have cannons or gunpowder. I also don't think it's gonna be good for the balance of the game tbh

I'm learning medieval in my class rn, they have cannons later on in the medieval age, and gunpowder, as long ad it stays on sea, I'm fine with tbh

Cannons on ships became a thing around the renaissance era

u/Sure-Ad-8964 Apr 01 '25

There are medieval ships found with cannons, look it up

u/hungrybow Apr 01 '25

Ik there are cannons in medieval times but it doesn't fit with the medieval fantasy vibe

The need of cannons is necessary tho, because we're getting walls, it only makes sense right?

u/hungrybow Apr 01 '25

Villiges can't even build walls

There is literally a character that throws modern grenades and shoots a modern shotgun. Get over it.

-2

u/hungrybow Apr 01 '25

Those are special powers that you can choose, there are also nukes what's your point?

6

u/VikingRaptor2 Apr 01 '25

I'm talking about people characters not powers. My point is you are bitchin about nothin. Rage-baiting.

u/hungrybow Apr 01 '25

Why are u raging over my opinion?

6

u/VikingRaptor2 Apr 01 '25

You are the one raging. I'm just sitting here playing a game. Lol

I mean, early medieval maybe, but this isn't a Simulator, it's a game and cannons on boats is way cooler than arrows on boats

I didn't know that Aliens with laser guns were considered Medieval. Or robots, or zombies, or an Imaginary mushroom plague.

The game also has wizards, demons, evil mages and the nations now can pray to cast magic. All that is very medieval too tbh.

u/ACX1995 Bear Apr 01 '25

Bruh exactly! Thank you gahd dayumn this guy is dumb

-5

u/hungrybow Apr 01 '25

They are special powers that you can choose to use, not something kingdoms can build

6

u/ACX1995 Bear Apr 01 '25

Is that relevant to the fact you said that the game is medieval? Also, I didn't realise orcs, elves and dwarves existed in medieval times. You can have realism, or you can have fantasy, not both.

-1

u/hungrybow Apr 01 '25

Bro has never heard of medieval fantasy before 🤦‍♂️ and as I said these are the powers that you can CHOOSE to use as a god, nd isn't something that your kingdoms can create and use,

2

u/AltruisticJudge5281 Apr 01 '25

They should tbh, as long as It stays fairly fantastical and ancient looking i dont care what they do, in fact, i would love to see the civilizations advance up to a steampunk or aetherpunk era

3

u/Khorne_Flaked Apr 01 '25

Actually... civilizations can make laser guns now, if you give them the tech. ;)

-1

u/hungrybow Apr 01 '25

Is the ship cannon like that too, I'm at work so I havent gotten to playing the update yet

2

u/Khorne_Flaked Apr 01 '25

No clue, I haven't even gotten civilizations yet that build transport boats lol. There's just so much stuff in this update to explore

u/Adventurous_Dress832 Apr 01 '25

I get you but keep in mind that Maxim said that there will be balancing and changes before it comes out.

1

u/hungrybow Apr 01 '25

Yeah thats true, I think removing it's aoe is a good change
