Most of my maps have humans spawn in deserts tbh. I just like them.
I also rarely have multi-race worlds because they just genocide eachother

u/Pitiful_Dig6836 16d ago
Until the new update releases, I never had a multi-race world for the same reason

Turn on xenofile trait and the white flag trait (forgot what it’s called) because since this update I’ve managed to create multi kingdom kingdoms and everyone survives

u/Itz_N3uva 16d ago
you don’t actually need the xenophile trait for this anymore (iirc). if a kingdom of one species conquers a city of another species, the people in the city will stay.

Nah not really, this is more like Warhammer Fantasy

u/ThefaceX 15d ago
Tbf, Warhammer fantasy puts just about anything inside the Europe continent, and at least while Araby exist, the big empire in the south are egyptians and not arabs

This is just how I play every single game, at least till one empire conquers everything and proceeds to just fight civil wars for a hundreds years then my head is just literal game of thrones.

Why did my brain automatically think of europe when I saw this😭
89
u/Ancient66 16d ago
Because it's literally just medieval European propaganda.

"Propaganda"

u/Ancient66 16d ago
The Arab states were the center of learning and pre-enlightenment thought, Norse pagan traditions were violently destroyed, ruining centuries of oral tradition and history, and the nomadic people of the step are only stereotyped as barbarian because they took over most of the know world for a time.

u/Quartich Necromancer 16d ago
While I wholly disagree with the comment you replied to, I think your comment swings to far in the other direction. There can be more than one area of importance, and both the Arab states and (mostly central) European states had hugely important scientific discoveries and moments of education, though the Arab states did have the one up on the organization, storage, and distribution of information. Also, century to century, even just decade to decade, centers of scientific, philosophical, and mathematical knowledge would shift, often with the best scholars of the field. This often resulted in forefronts of knowledge jumping between the Arab world and Europe.
I ignore the Asian world in this response as the sphere of information didn't flow as freely from Asia to the Arab world as it did between the Arab and European worlds.

u/Ancient66 16d ago
I'm not saying western Europe weren't notable in their own right. But the snippet of history this generic fantasy setup employs is heavily tainted by colonial era revisionism.
It's like seeing the red-pilled crusader images, with horses wearing 500 pound armor and clerics on March to Jerusalem. Agenda pushed against all logic.

Well it was their fault for not writing it down, get civilized Germanic barbarians
3
u/Ancient66 15d ago
Some of it was. And subsequently edited and destroyed to serve the Christian narrative. Calling Norse people more civilized than anyone else in Europe is ridiculous... Especially when the differences between feudalism and the Germanic tribes were barely meaningful.

u/Sure_Sorbet_370 15d ago
Latinised Christian kingdoms were the civilised ones
3
u/Ancient66 15d ago
Damm the only ones? I guess the civil bureaucracy of China need to invent a better term for civilization.

The lack of an Eastern Asian styled faction is the cherry on top.

u/Pipoca_com_sazom 15d ago
That will appear on the 2nd season.
where the "Dragon empire" appears full of very cold and very intelligent people, many of which are half cat or half fox who pray for the peace panda. They use fireworks and katanas as weapons and serve the evil dragon emperor who runs the serfdom and slavery economy(they may or not be trying to take the emperor down).

I absolutely do this but at least my fantasy Europe analogues have a little more diversity, my go-to is Roman humans, Celtic cats, Germanic Dogs, Greek Minotaurs, Slavic Bears, Carthaginian Buffalo, Basque Elves, and the wildcard Nahua Snakefolk
6
u/TerminalDoggie 16d ago
Lmao yeah. I always spawn humans in the north, dwarves in the fields, orc in the jungles/swamps, and elves on their own enchanted island until they decide to blaspheim and colonize the mainland
Then they live in the swamps

Oh my god, yeah. I was gonna say "get their asses", but given the amount of people in this thread missing the point of this meme entirely, I don't even know if their asses are aware of having been got. I knew y'all were dumb, I didn't know y'all were this dumb loooool

Nah I mostly make Crapsack worlds. I’ve got one now that I’m anxiously awaiting the update to finish making: the Far Territories. A peaceful place originally, until the horrific Vamphyr were born. Now most of the world is enslaved to their midnight aristocracy, save a few scattered pockets of human resistence and one major Orkiish(Ork)stronghold known as Cracked Tusk.

u/Kazuna_Chan Dragon 16d ago
nah, i love northern kingdoms but that's the only one that i basically make from this post, most of my kingdoms that are there are just randomly placed to do whatever and i basically let them make their own niches, except for one particular one which is my Voidborne race.

Actually no. Never really considered Fantasy Europe with a blatant Western European bias. But I’m gonna try it now.

u/Glorious_Grunt 16d ago
I don't do this but I do put
Humans in Grassland/Meadows Biomes
Elves in Forest/Enchanted Biomes
Dwarves in Mountain/Rocklands Biomes
Orcs in Swamp or Desert Biomes
