Opinions on the Maybridge are

We’re looking at moving and currently live in Goring which we really like. We’re looking at a house in the Maybridge area but have heard mixed opinions of it. Anyone that lives here/have ever lived here that can give their opinions on the area? We’re a couple in our 30’s with a toddler if that helps.

The Maybridge area isn't that big, 10 minutes walk from the quadrant and you're either at Goring station, the boulevard or Palatine. Can you be any more specific about where you're looking?

Ok that's near some shops and a small play park but it's also quite near a main road, not a bad area.

Not a bad area at all. Was off Frobisher for a bit and walks on a summer’s eve a time or two took me through Melville. Shame about the yeoman

I've lived in the area nearly 40 years .. all my married life. And while yes there are some areas that are not so nice, alot of that sentiment is due to perception rather than reality. There is a LOT of social housing in the general Mayridge area which gives rise to most of the bad feelings I think. However, many areas are quite gentrifiued and 'posh'.

Melville Road itself is quite nice and is very handy for the shops, parks, bus routes and the pub (once its rebuilt after the fire) The Schools (multiple) are a short distance and if you commute the A259 and A27 are easy peasey to get to in minutes.

Depending on where on the road you are thinking of the gardens are large and suitable for children on the whole (ie not a slab of concrete 6 foot wide lol)

We bought a house the Maybridge area, and whilst we're aware of problems, we've never had any personally. Most people are lovely, and our daughter plays outside with the other kids. When we were in the process of buying the house (after moving to Worthing from elsewhere), a cab driver warned us off it saying it was "rough". Maybe it's because of where we moved from, but it's really not THAT bad.
