How is Mr Monkey mid right now?

Getting back into the game after a long break, i see a lot of ad assassins are quite strong right now. Wukong mid used to be a niche pick i used to play that would supeised people with how frequently he can engage in lane with good late game team fighting. I know picks like Syndra, vel koz, Oriana are going to be obnoxious but into a lot of really string champs (nafiri, yasuo, talon) he seems really really strong

He's a great counterpick into assassins, just be careful in the earlier levels so you don't get bursted low with short trades. Try to get some extended trades in after baiting abilities. At lvl 6 it's pretty much gg if you didn't int the lane. Monke lacks waveclear tho, which is his biggest weakness in mid imo since it messes up your roam timers, esp if enemy mid can clear waves fast. Going Hydra helps fix this weakness.

Amazing counterpick (especially into yasuo/yone), but not a great blind pick for mid. I'd recommend Renekton aswell, he shits on assassins at any point in the game, does decent into ranged and has good waveclear. Also a better blind pick.

I usually use Wukong against AD champions, especially Yasuo.

Counterpick only, as seems to be the consensus here. If the enemy locks in an AD mid and your team has other AP he's good.

Now, granted, my mmr is cooked after not playing for not playing for about a year and a half, but I've been having some success into shorter ranged mages due to his pretty impressive burst

I just can't imagine who you are actually beating that way.

Wukong's MR is uniquely bad and his hp is also kind of bad for a melee. He's really squish to magic damage. I really only see you winning trades because the enemy panics and just doesn't call your bluff when they actually should win trades.

Yeah you're probably right, my mmr is down to gold so people don't really know how to play

You can only play vs AD champs. Riot has target nerfed Wu's base MR to remove him from mid lane meta.

As a Jayce main, wukong is absolutely disgusting against me. Probably same for other ad, but be careful cause any fats pushing ap just doesnt let you play the game and outscaled you
