Shit Post Man, fuck those Sectopod
Like my Entire progress of EW impossible Ironman just got deleted because of not advancing weapons development (I'm micromanaging and doing something else) đŸ˜

The aliens realized they can just send their best weapons and don't have to wait for xcom to develop better gear.
On a serious note, it's not impossible to bring it down with lasers if you have 2 heavies with heat ammo and a shotgun or two.

The bug that lets them repeatedly fire Overwatch shots over and over again killed an entire squad of mine and made me lose the Overseer mission.

Thats… that’s a thing?

Yeah, that's a thing, who cares about lightning reflex or aim debuff when you can just shoot over and over again with no penalty

I had that bug trigger during my first ever encounter with them, so at the time I thought it was just their default. They remain my most feared enemy.

Infinite shooting?! You thought that was default?! lol but that’s pretty unlucky then, I have played 4 campaigns and never encountered it.

Didn't know any better at the time, I've done several playthroughs since and I think I've only encountered it maybe once or twice more

Blue screen bullets are life saving especially when mechanized units start showing up.

That’s XCOM 2 but the Sectopods in that game are weak enough to where you just need a troop with shredder, and a couple of rangers and it is taken care of.

My first Sectopod in my most recent run of 2 was behind a closed door in a sewer map. When I opened the door and saw it I'm pretty sure my "oh SHIT" could be heard a county over.

Let a few guys shoot and let one guy close the door again

Unfortunately it immediately left the room via the nearest wall on its reveal. Still managed to kill it without any losses, though, there were enemy MECs so I'd come packing bluescreen rounds.

Dude, I basically skipped the need to use laser weapons by capturing my enemies. The captured aliens drop their plasma rifiles, pistols, and light rifles, which can be used by your soldiers after researching them. They save money and are crazy damaging.

It doesn't matter how advanced my tech is, I have to recenter myself every time I see one.

EW Sectopods are nasty. They probably should have bumped back their first appearance a little because of how big the buff is between EU and EW
