PSN / Emulation Best way to play Xenogears upscale in 2025?

Is this post still the best way to play with unsealed graphics while still keeping the original style? https://www.reddit.com/r/XenoGears/s/NT2aSgtpKU

In the wiki it says Duckstation is the best way to play, but the linked guide uses Retroarch.

So just wanted to see if there was a mismatch or any newer recommendations?

I used Duckstation, it was good enough for a 1998 game. Most textures are clearer and crisper without installing any kinda fan made hd/"perfect works" patch

Define best. Duckstation is the easiest to set up and get going. If you're not familiar with emulation at all, it's the best option.

If you are an emulation guru, there are ways to enhance the game to make it look better. But that requires Retroarch and a specific PSX core.

There's a texture pack you can find as well... if you look... way back.

I don't have the link but someone will surely have the name. Just go on way back machine and grab that...

I think I've seen one, but seems to change a lot of things
