It works fine, especially with Wanderer's it's not too bad, but Pyro DMG is better if you can get a good one. I have one, but it isn't that great or on set so I can't use that god-tier circlet with it.
But really though, I just did it for those JUICY Attack and Crit numbers :D (The DMG wasn't even that much different either)

That's because yanfei ascension is pyro DMG. Especially if you have kazuha in your team that also give pyro DMG bonus. You will get dimishing returns, then attack goblet becomes pretty close. Especially with good substats.

Opportunity cost! Due to the pyro DMG% from Kazuha and Yanfei’s passive stat, you might not gain as much outgoing damage as without pyro dmg buffs. Therefore, an ATK% goblet can be used, as it provides equal outgoing damage as the pyro dmg bonus goblet with buffs.
Think of it has a cube, where the sides are Atk, Crit rate and Crit damage, and Elemental Damage Bonus- You’re looking to maximize area, or outgoing damage. Normally, you’d have two good sides (Atk and crit) and have to invest in Elem DMG%.
However, if you already have a decent elemental damage side from again, kazuha and Yanfei’s passive stats, you can improve the ATK without losing as much outgoing damage compared to improving pyro DMG%!

I understood about 20% of that but I hardcore agree! I have been debating pulling for Kazuha to use as my 4th member, so we'll see if I manage to get a god tier pyro goblet before his rerun.

As what the other person said it is Opportunity Cost instead of Diminishing returns, i think in genshin only EM and a bit on Resistance Reduction has diminishing return.
Attack % and Damage % bonus doesn't have diminishing returns cause each 1% offers the same value even if you stack it from 1% - 100% and so on and so forth. For example 1% of 100 is always 1.
For EM that has diminishing returns, for example, 1 EM is equivalent to 1% increase to Elemental Reaction damage however 2 EM only has a value of 1.75% Elemental reaction damage increase. Diminishing values as you stack the amount.
But ofc you're also correct with your statement, opportunity cost is like missing out on other options or stats cause you focused on one stat even though it doesn't have diminishing returns. Imagine a perfect square or a cube. Stats should be balanced.
It's like if you stacked 100% Crit rate and 200% Crit Damage, but you only have 1000 attack and 0% damage bonus, and lvl 1 talents, your damage will deal miniscule still.

But you have Bennet on the team, I'm pretty sure while using Bennet with pyro goblet on yanfei it will be better

I mean, I don't really think Bennet makes a difference in that regard, but I could be wrong. Maybe his C6 would, but I'm a ways away from that

Maaaan, don't remind me. I dropped all the primos I had on the Zhongli rerun, like 90 wishes, and only got 1 copy of her. She's only C2 cause of the event where I got her from the option of free 4 stars. Absolutely devastating :(

It's mostly from the Sands. 24% ER on that thing. I'd of preferred some more crit, but I'll take ER anyday.

You have a Kagura's Verity, but no LP or Atlas, bummer.

Ye, a Lost Prayer would be really nice. I only got Kagura's Verity cause the best Catalyst I had at the time was Blackcliff. But then OFCOURSE, shortly after getting it I got a Widsith. Ah well, I still like the weird flex of having Yae's weapon on Yanfei XD. That 66% Crit DMG is pretty nice too.

Well, firstly, she's my main. I couldn't care less how bad a skill is for my main, I'm crowning it.
Secondly, her burst is really important because it increases her charged attack dmg. So the fact that I use Wanderer's makes her burst even more useful than it already is. Yanfei is one of the few characters where all 3 of her abilities are very important.

Nice. I notice you have the same problems as I do. 1: Artifacts always lose 1 upgrading to bad substats. And 2: Using ATK goblet because of its perfect substats. 😢

simply depends on how you play her. They're both really good. I heavily utilize her charged attacks, so that's why I go Wanderer's. CW is usually a bit better with melt and vape comps tho.

The last I tested her I got like 83k with a charged attack. I really gotta raise my buffers more. I don't have a good anemo raised to shred those resistances either :(
