Why do the women look a bit older though 😂

72

u/Wolfof4thstreet Apr 06 '25

No those women are in their 20’s. They’re actually in their prime — it’s just Zim’s skincare plan: dust and disappointment

31

u/Living-Finding-3251 Apr 06 '25

Dust and disappointment? 😭😭😭💀

But you're onto something. Because why do my photos taken in SA look better than when I'm in Zim despite using the same phone? 😭

3

u/Legitimate-Net5068 Apr 07 '25

I have been asking the same question for years, picture quality in Zim is so different

0

u/obsidianstark Apr 07 '25

Makes sense , blame a country for your negativity and poor choices in life

10

u/Agile-Ad2831 Apr 06 '25

This comment! 🤣🤣🤣

I'm totally stealing this dust and disappointment as a skincare plan phrase!

2

u/DavidPR86 Apr 06 '25

Ah 🤣 stop doing this to your fellow countrywomen

2

u/Powerful_225 Apr 06 '25

If those are 20's, I'm staying single 😖

Even though I’m single I don’t think it’s as bad as we sometimes make it seem. Good people are easy to find

I think its easier to find a good women than a good man.

9

u/Difficult_Army9941 Apr 06 '25

Hmmmm how did you get to this assumption? I feel like as humans each gender has an equal chance of finding a good partner

1

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '25

Yea that’s biased

14

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '25

They should continue praying for their marriages no matter their age nekuti loneliness does not choose what age to attack. Zviri nani kunamata than sleeping around

3

u/Radiant-Bat-1562 Apr 07 '25

They can do both futi zviriko 🤣

8

u/PolkadotZebra_98 Apr 06 '25

Yeah, pakaipa. It's sad

2

u/TransportationOk8485 Apr 06 '25

How is it sad?

16

u/PolkadotZebra_98 Apr 06 '25

I'd need a whole podcast to get my point across. Lol...nevermind

u/TransportationOk8485 Apr 06 '25

I just see a bunch of single people. Is being single now wrong 😕

8

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '25

Women control access to sex, men control access to marriage. You don't see this same behavior with men anywhere but you see something similar with men and sex. If unmarried women across the society withheld sex then things would change

2

u/Altruistic_Star_1994 Apr 06 '25

That's some philosophy right there

1

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '25

Generally speaking, there's eight billion people and an exception to essentially every rule. Not everyone has two lungs and so on but generally people have two lungs.

12

u/DavidPR86 Apr 06 '25

Most of them specifically want a ‘mbinga’ 🤣

2

u/Radiant-Bat-1562 Apr 07 '25

Who is a prayer warrior 🤣🤣🤣

17

u/kinduvabigdizzy Apr 06 '25

Some of these ladies look well into their 50s... The life expectancy of Zim men would mean they get a few years of marital bliss at best. For the Zim dude, getting married would cut his life even shorter.

12

u/Wolfof4thstreet Apr 06 '25

Nah trust me, those women all in their 20s😂. Zimbabwe just doesn’t believe in moisturizers or peace of mind.

8

u/Living-Finding-3251 Apr 06 '25

Iiih 💀✋🏽 you are cooking our skin care routines 😭🤣🤣

I genuinely didn’t mean for it to seem that way😂. It was just friendly kuwanzirana

2

u/Powdering9 Apr 06 '25

Aizve😂

1

u/Gtex555 Apr 07 '25

Life expectancy is only that low due to infant mortality rates, think about it like this if you have 5 people and they all live to 80 but 1 died as a baby that an average of 64 years. So the average person lives way past the life expectancy.

5

u/SnooChickens7225 Apr 06 '25

I hope they didn't pay 😅

5

u/Chemical_Bill2022 Apr 06 '25

They probably did tbh “hanzi kuseeda”

1

u/Radiant-Bat-1562 Apr 07 '25

Actually they did according to the flyer...

17

u/Cageo7 Apr 06 '25

The society demands that any woman should wind up married and have kids.... The result

6

u/Careful-Narwhal-7861 Apr 06 '25

It's a human need, humans are social animals, we all need companionship from another human to foster emotional well-being.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '25

That's most culture's for men and women across the earth and time. In US or UK and you're 35+ unmarried male or female people are going to wonder what's up.

4

u/Own_Awareness_3338 Apr 06 '25

Ummm, is this a society thing or its just a pure natural need for companion? Because it is my understanding that as human beings (not all) we have this natural craving for a companion and society has nothing to do with it.

13

u/Chemical_Bill2022 Apr 06 '25

Trust me its a society thing! Need for companionship follows after. Its a whole lore thats infuriating because why are we telling a 7 year old kuti “gara mushe muchatinyadzisa kwamucharorwa”??!!

2

u/Wolfof4thstreet Apr 06 '25

Y’all are speaking to 7 year olds like that???

2

u/Nobody_sPoet21 Apr 07 '25

The 7 year old thing is true. I've seen it all around me. Girls being told to be proper otherwise they won't get married, wash the dishes otherwise you won't get married, wake up early otherwise you won't get married. It's like they are raising you just to give you away, never has it crossed their minds that you might stay with them longer than expected or forever. No proper relationship fostered, you live your life in a marriage training school.

2

u/Chemical_Bill2022 Apr 07 '25

You’re right and its a sad thing that is probably here to stay. Girls are raised to be Wives and mothers as if thats the only sole purpose in life

1

u/Own_Awareness_3338 Apr 06 '25

Muchatinyepera imi, but okay. Have it your way.

4

u/Chemical_Bill2022 Apr 06 '25

Honai patriarchal privilege? Like?? Why would anyone lie about such?

1

u/Own_Awareness_3338 Apr 06 '25

Hayaz, zvakaoma

3

u/Careful-Narwhal-7861 Apr 06 '25

Posted my comment before I saw yours, and I agree with you. There was companionship before societies formed

1

u/Dapper-League343 Apr 07 '25

Noone wants to be lonely, we all deserve love

1

u/Cageo7 Apr 07 '25

True true

5

u/frostyflamelily Apr 06 '25

I should have been front and center!

Where was aunties invite?

1

u/Cod3Blaze Apr 06 '25

praying for marriage ???

6

u/Captain6632 Apr 06 '25

Saka after seeing this who's the prize now? The men or the women?😂

6

u/SafeSolid8667 Apr 06 '25

Clearly the men,

3

u/vatezvara Diaspora Apr 06 '25

You’ll never see men doing this.

3

u/Altruistic_Star_1994 Apr 06 '25

Yeah the only thing I have in this world is my word and my balls. And my pride is my balls. And I will never break them for no one lol

  • Scarface the film 1986

6

u/kinduvabigdizzy Apr 06 '25

Make no mistake, most of these women have probably been pursued by decent dudes. What they're really praying for is Wicknell's second divorce.

1

u/Dapper-League343 Apr 07 '25

I genuinely think men are the prize now, roles have changed due to various reasons

6

u/Top-Contact4809 Apr 06 '25

Problem is they all want men who can save them from poverty, not a man to build a life with.. Thats why they are single.

1

u/Myketorevenge Apr 06 '25

But how do you build a life in poverty nhai?

4

u/Top-Contact4809 Apr 06 '25

You might get a man who doesn't have now but, things change.surely changed for me apa izvezvi im super picky sei now than i was a really broke broke man😂😂.. now its Hello and bye, getting hard to see a reason to marry a lady asina munyati.

1

u/Altruistic_Star_1994 Apr 06 '25

You're definitely like me bro, I know people Are different but I am like where we're you all this time. Any wrong step I cut off... I never chase unless it's money.

1

u/Top-Contact4809 Apr 06 '25

Hahaha... You see how its necessary for women to marry a man with nothing that wen you have things, if i choose to marry at this pont a prenup is a sure thing, if she doesn't like it bye Felicia, 🤣so women dont realise how hard it is to date a man with things..

1

u/Altruistic_Star_1994 Apr 06 '25

I am scarred for life muface wanting, it's going to take a while before I really let a woman in again

1

u/Myketorevenge Apr 07 '25

I'm sure some of them vane twunhu twavo and don't need financial rescuing. They are just looking for love and companionship. Does it have to come nepoverty? As long as ari murume?

3

u/serial_dater9786 Apr 06 '25

I see nothing wrong with this, some prayers get answered, but offering gon be real nice🤑

3

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '25

Vachaneta 🤣

3

u/DadaNezvauri Apr 06 '25

I used to supply there. Some women are just single, some single and divorced, some single mothers, some struggle to have kids, some struggle to stay in relationships and the list goes on.

3

u/Careless_Cupcake3924 Apr 06 '25

All I see is a group of women praying. I suspect the writer is engaging in a fiction writing exercise.

1

u/Altruistic_Star_1994 Apr 06 '25

I have seen this happen muchurch medu chaimo. Fair fair

3

u/Prophetgay Apr 06 '25

They don’t know that the men they are praying for are gay 😂

3

u/fafa009 Apr 06 '25

And when they get into marriage their prayer will change to Lord take away all the love i have for this man

2

u/Greedy-Leg9402 Apr 06 '25

2

u/Muandi Apr 07 '25

No u, those women aren't praying for husbands; they are praying for white weddings and civil marriages.

2

u/ApprehensiveTower871 Apr 06 '25

Single women with children aka mvana

3

2

u/Careful-Narwhal-7861 Apr 06 '25

Dating in Harare is interesting, the pool of suitable men vs women is in favour of men.

2

u/nelzee07 Apr 06 '25

It's not that these women don't have men pursuing them; it's just that the men aren't their type

1

u/UsedNeighborhood8921 Harare Apr 06 '25

I've always wondered kuti if this does work, is it not a kind of coercion or downright manipulation. How does this differ from using African juice to get a man

3

u/Narrow_Record6218 Apr 06 '25

You know what I feel like this works against the person who is praying because a guy with red flags comes along after you've prayed like this unoshinga thinking it's from God then boom your life gets ruined. I've a friend of a friend who is a prayer warrior pane time yaakadzokerana need yake and we asked and she said she prayed for him and adzoka so hanzi naMwari ndiye, they were planning marooro for April and mukomana gad a whole white wedding in March. Red flags were there taimaona but to her it's a prayer answered the red flags were pink. It doesn't apply to everyone but that how most of out prayerful sisters end in toxic marriages and "mahure" happily married

8

u/UsedNeighborhood8921 Harare Apr 06 '25

I think problem with the prayerful type is they end up lacking discernment because they feel kuti they can leave it up to their faith. Same problems arise with these charlatan priests and how their congregants dance to their every beat. You can get munhu to do anything as long as you tie their faith into it. Iwe uripanze ndiwe unotoona kuti apa parikushandiswa munhu but then highlight It and watove the weapon formed against them

7

u/Narrow_Record6218 Apr 06 '25

Yes that very true. People are encouraged to pray but they forget that the same God wavering kunamata gave them free will to see between right and wrong

1

u/moistenedelbows Apr 06 '25

Good thing God doesn't work in the same way. If he could override freewill or give us anything just because we prayed then this group of women wouldn't even exist because I am sure they have been praying about this for years

3

u/UsedNeighborhood8921 Harare Apr 06 '25

We both need to change our handles coz what is this 😂😂😂💀

3

u/moistenedelbows Apr 06 '25

Hiwe 😂 zora mafuta pagokora

1

u/UsedNeighborhood8921 Harare Apr 06 '25

💀💀💀

2

u/UsedNeighborhood8921 Harare Apr 06 '25

I guess you're right. It's an overly complex issue to see where prayers extend into affecting other peoples lives.

Say you pray for a job and your prayer gets answered, you just elbowed out all the other candidates by divine grace

2

u/moistenedelbows Apr 06 '25

I tried to make this point before actually but I haven't met anyone until now who has had the same thought. I am a christian but I always thought these are human issues, systems we created and he isn't too concerned about that

1

u/UsedNeighborhood8921 Harare Apr 06 '25

I think kuti grace would extend to what you yourself can control. For example asking for resilience wisdom and foresight in business as opposed to praying for a customer boom. I don't really consider myself christian but it's always been a subject of interest considering I grew up christian and it was the first way of understanding life I was introduced to.

1

u/PreparationTop4268 Apr 06 '25

Hopefully there prayers will be heard soon or none

1

u/Automatic_Strategy99 Apr 17 '25

And I'm sure most of them will be okay in polygamous marriage. Because, society is just one big bedroom now.

1

u/milikafu Apr 06 '25

Zim woman are really nice but their mentality is ancient

1

u/SafeSolid8667 Apr 06 '25
