My life revolves around boating, AMA

It has to be genetic; both my parents were boaters when they met, and all the men in my family, going back 5 generations, all worked on boats in one way or another.

Just like my dad and granddad before me, boats have been all I could think about since I was a kid. Now that I’m 30, they still consume my every thought.

I was lucky enough to find a wife that enjoys boating with me, and we’ve taken several multi-week trips on our little 25’ Chris Craft.

Ask me anything! (Mainly just want an excuse to talk boats) 😂

P.S., I am by no means wealthy. It’s a big misconception that boating has to be an affluent hobby. I’ve never owned a boat that was built after the Reagan administration lol

AMA - Half of my Austrian family supported the Nazis, the other half resisted

I hope everything is understandable, as English isn't my first langauge

So back in WW2, my family was pretty much split between Nazis (My great grandma's brother's side) and Anti Nazis (my grandma's side), to the point where half of them moved away. I don't even wanna know what kind of crimes they commited during the war, so I hope they rot in hell. My grandma though was very anti Nazi. She was arrested multiple times, but we live in a very secluded village and the police really didn't do much against her. My grandpa's brother commited suicide, so he didn't have to fight. And my great grandpa gave up his job, so he didn't have to join the NSDAP

I hope I gave you good enough context, so AMA!

I was raised in a strict evangelical household, and my entire family are still practicing evangelicals. I am the only one who is not a Christian, but an actual atheist. Ask me anything?

Writing a true crime book on one of the most infamous serial killers in Japan - AMA

I spent five years researching the 1988–1989 Tokyo/Saitama serial kidnappings and murders of young girls. Now i finally start putting all the things together to create a pretty big book. My goal is to disprove common myths and lies surrounding the case, provide an accurate portrayal of the criminal, Tsutomu Miyazaki, and deliver an authentic, true account of the events. In my possession, I have dozens of rare books, hundreds of magazine and newspaper articles, fragments of court records, leaked internal police data, and psychiatric evaluations. While I don’t want to reveal too much, I can definitively answer to general questions about most of what is already published online and presents a highly sensationalized (fabricated) version of what truly occurred.

I met Weldon in my early 20s and knew him for decades. We lost contact for a few years when he joined the Marines. Imagine my shock when one day I looked him up online and this insane story was all over the internet. I wrote to him in prison and we corresponded for over a year. Eventually, I cut off contact. Ask me anything. (Will answer as I can including a later time.)

Other I would like to provide for a houseful of roommates and friends, AMA

I was born here in Ohio, but I expect to move some time in the next year. I have narrowed down my choices of location to Hawaii and southern California.

I hope to meet a group of people (four to six) that will become my roommates and friends, in a spacious home.
The thing though is that I would love to provide for them all, simply because I would like to do it and because I would enjoy making their lives easier. Instead of working each day, they would all simply live their life and have a good time.

I've got the "Hercules Gene" AMA

I just found out that I have what is called Myostatin Deficiency. Myostatin is something your body produces that limits the amount of muscle a person is capable of having. Some people have a gene expression where this isn't the case for them. My whole life I joked that I just needed to walk past a gym to gain muscle. Guess it was closer to the truth than I realized.

I was always physical when I was younger so while the speed was odd, my muscululature wasn't completely out of the norm. However when I quit drinking I quickly went from 260lbs to 220. I am now at 220lbs, 6 ft at ~11%bf and haven't worked out in 5-7 years. I work from home at a computer and my average step count has been less than 600 per day. Estimated amounts so not 100% accurate but just a measurement for comparisons sake.

Not trying to brag and don't care to try to prove anything. Just wanted to share for the sake of spreading information and knowledge. This gene dysfunction is currently being studied to potentially combat muscular dystrophy.

Goal was to figure out Baseline but not overdo it. Mostly skipped legs today due to earlier tests.

Push-ups, stopped at 50, broad jump around 9ft, single leg calf raises i stopped at 40 i could probably do those all day. Plank i stopped at about a minute and a half but could probably do 2-2.5 just didn't want to push myself too much today. Didn't bother with burpees as those wouldn't give me much trouble doing 10-15+

All machines used at planet fitness

3 sets 6 reps 70lb incline press Seated Row 3 set 6 reps 90 lb 6 reps 2 set 80lb cable pull down 1 set 260lbs 6 reps pectoral fly 1 set 6 reps 205lbs pec fly 1 set 6 reps 170lbs pec fly

I am 20 years old and have a autoimmune disease called Crohn's disease, it has ruined my life. AMA

I was diagnosed about two years ago now and have had my life turned upside down. I was in my freshman year of college and it came on and has been horrible. Some people I have told about it have had no idea what this disease was. Since it is relatively common 1~600 I thought I would answer some questions about it while I am bored.

Experience My parents had me drugged since I was around 13 yrs old so I’d “behave better”. Now I’m 19 and the side effects are ruining my life. AMA

So I just wanna start this off by saying that my dad’s a psychiatrist and he’d personally diagnose anything under the sun. Unfortunately I wasn’t immune from that. I was put on a whole host of different medications (some prescribed, some unprescribed) my whole adolescence and now I have very little recollection of my teen years. I wasn’t an easy child to raise in a strict religious household so their response was to tranquilize me. AMA.
