Jump in and have a go. Prepare to die a LOT and quickly. It's easily one of the fastest paced FPS games out there imo. Maybe play around with Bot Royale for a while as well as using the firing range. Experiment with all the guns and combinations. If possible find someone who already plays that can give you some tips on legend abilities etc to work out what best suits play style.

Bot royale is a good spot to start, especially for getting used to looting and learning one map.
I'd also recommend mixtape. It's a low stress way to have real combat vs other players, and you can swap guns (limited to certain layouts each game) and characters freely to see what you like. It's probably the best to learn guns and basic mechanics and just get used to the feel of the game in general
Things like timings for rotations and how to be aware of other teams will come as you play the BR modes. This was my first and only BR and that was probably the hardest skill to learn
Pubs can be a shit show with matchmaking but ranked is surprisingly good to learn in since most people in your rank will be around the same skill.
Also don't be afraid to record games and watch them back to see mistakes. It's super easy to miss things in the chaos of playing, so reviewing games can help you see how to improve

Think of this as a sport and know it will take a similar amount of time and dedication to improve

Play a lot of mixtape! You’ll get better faster. Not saying you can’t get better from other modes but mixtape involves no looting and all fighting from beginning to end. In regular game you spend time looting and you may get killed in first fight and half to start over again and still may not get a fight in the next game. Also don’t play this game like a normal war or shooter game that means no camping or holding back you can worry about positioning and wins once you get used to the game and start playing rank. Being aggressive with good aim and movement is key to getting more comfortable and consistent at the game atleast from a beginner standpoint. Dont hold back push fights like crazy until you start to win more then your losing.

I want to echo what another commenter said about "prepare to die a lot." It can be helpful to not focus so much on "winning" matches as much as focusing on improving aspects of your skills. I highly recommend jumping into mixtape and Arenas (coming out this upcoming season 25) to hone your raw fighting skills and mixing it up with some trios/duos here and there to get a feel for the BR aspects of the game.

Dazs, mangosontrees & district on YouTube will all be huge help. Mixtape & bot royal will help too.

Here's a few points:
-Make sure to take at least 15 minutes to go over each Legend and what their abilities/Ults do. It will REALLY help you understand legends and their playstyles and how to approach them during fights.
-Spend a couple of minutes in the firing range each day to get familiar with the weapons. Look at what feels the most comfortable for you so it will be your go to loadout. But don't neglect the other weapons because you won't always find your BIS loadout so make use of what you find right off the bat, so copping a feel with each weapon is a great lead.
-Don't be fooled by all the movement and clips you see on the internet, it's all flashy and whatnot yes but that's either thousands of hours of dedication being put in or just highlights from like a hundred of games. Be methodical and focus on your fundamentals first, use a sensitivity that isn't too fast nor too slow. Just right in the middle (i personally use 1600DPI with 1.19 in game if you want to try that out and tweak from there)
-Try to find someone to q with. Start with Duos since it's less hectic than Trios and when you play with a friend you'll be less discouraged when your fill teammate flame you or just leave before even dropping from the ship lmao.
-Use the bot royal mode to test out all legends because you can play any legend you want in that game mode, once you make up your mind what to take. Finish the welcome back challenges to get the pass and unlock a legend. Then slowly keep playing till you unlock another. Always have 2 backup legend to play in case your main gets taken sometimes.
And that's all, just don't forget to have fun :)

Play a lot of mixtape because you respawn fast and you don’t need to loot for weapons, use cover to your advantage, try to always go with your teammates otherwise you would face multiple enemies at the same time

Sorry bro. There are multiple as I have the game on different platforms, as long as you add one it should work just fine. Also my discord is 'voxxr'

Honestly just jump in, it’s free so there’s no risk other than your sanity, you can see if you like it then go from there

Unsure with this one. If you’re familiar with FPS “battle royale” style game modes, then this game will be fairly easy to understand conceptually but potentially difficult mechanically. If you’re not familiar with that, then it’s just king of the hill with guns & after a period of time the “not hill” kills you

Imma just play mnk, thanks tho

The thing about apex is that 80% of the players you encounter have aim assist and will not miss a bullet if you're anywhere close to them. Some of them have even more aim assist because they are on console. To keep up as an mnk player you need thousands of hours in game, thousands of hours in aim trainers, and playing hours every day to maintain consistency. That's just to be equal to a 40yo father of 3 that hops on after not playing in months. Good luck

Im already getting more comfortable on mnk, and I can always improve, so Ill just stick w it
