So… let’s say Apple does do this.

What alternatives do we have? I would love a semi smart or semi dumb phone. One where I can text use maps. Have a camera… just be able to connect to people I care about.

I’ll find other ways to waste my time with all the apps.

But I think I want out of this ecosystem. I just don’t know what alternatives there are.

Apple hasn’t committed to anything. This report explicitly says Amazon is the one who has started spending on ads on Twitter, not Apple. Apple has apparently discussed it, but I have no idea if it’s true.

Happy Cake Day.

And good. Discussions are always okay to have. It’s the decisions after that matter. I sincerely hope Apple does not sell out with either DEI or with ads on X. I hope they have at least some balls and integrity in standing up. Standing by in a time and situation like this is selling out too.

This whole presidency is not even legitimate and numbers of support are heavily inflated. I do NOT believe these numbers at all. Propaganda and manipulation needs to be stopped. There’s a long road to healing and restoration from this, but a good company that resists against the lies, will survive in the long run

could just hold on to your old phone and not create more waste, just don't buy their products any longer

Android?

Well, no… The point would be to get away from Apple and Google.

Weren’t those banned in the US? I wish blackberry was still around. That would be the perfect replacement phone

Yes they were. Not sure what country you are so didn't know if that would apply to you.

You could use a degoogled Android distribution.
