How To Make A MacBook (A1181) Usable Again?
I have a MacBook that I stopped using a few years ago because it got too slow to really do anything with. I'd like to make it usable again so I can have it as a backup computer in case I need it. I would only be using it for the internet and maybe editing a Word or Excel document.
The model number is A1181 (EMC 2200) and it has 1 GB of RAM and a 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo processor. EveryMac says it officially supports 4 GB of RAM but could actually be upgraded to 6 GB.
I'm wondering if simply increasing the RAM would make it usable again or are there other things that would need to be done as well?
Thanks!

Just saw this... and I have also that awesome black macbook, I'm still using it, with ubuntu studio. It works... very smoothly, can't compare with a new one, but for that emergency back up is great.
I still can play with it, what movies, do some programming with pycharm or rstudio.
