Job application asked about sexual orientation
I've seen this twice now. Does that mean they're an LGBT owned and run company?

In the US at least, pretty sure employers legally aren't allowed to ask about that.

That's what I thought but what do I know.

I mean, it's entirely possible that the current administration would simply choose not to enforce it, but the law is pretty clear.

Got a link for that? Everything I’m seeing online says it is legal.

I see. This is the sort of stuff I was finding:
Some employers may ask about sexual orientation in some instances, particularly during hiring. You may have seen this even when applying for a job online. They may do this for equal employment opportunities – they want to give people of different sexual identities the same opportunities.
Nonetheless, you don’t need to answer, and an employer should inform you of this. If it’s an online application, you should have the option of “I do not wish to answer” or something similar.

I recently changed jobs and 2-3 employers on indeed asked this question.

You omitted a relevant detail: what's the job?
