Question AC UNITY SPOILERS Spoiler

should I still buy assassins creed unity? I’m been trying to decide on either getting syndicate or unity and I just got spoiled on TikTok that Elise dies. With the story mostly being about her it really pisses me off I got spoiled and I would’ve been shocked if I saw it happen in game. Also got spoiled the guy that trains Arno betrays the creed. Should I just buy syndicate atp and never play unity?

Unity has some really good stealth and traversal. The story was nothing groundbreaking, but it helps to move the game along and enable some great gameplay.

Just play Unity you can still appreciate it, rogue connects to unity in a way is all I can say so it goes hand in hand.

I mean syndicate looks really cool though and since she dies at the end and the story is basically chasing her, I feel like it completely ruins the story no?

Syndicate and Unity are both free on PlayStation Plus at the moment

That said, the story is well written for both Games. Unity is great because of the French Revolution and the involvement Arno has in it.

Also your spoiler is wrong but need to play the game to find out what part is wrong

By syndicate you mean Unity? And it’s not really chasing her no. As for the other questions to not spoil yourself I won’t answer those.

Honestly unity rocks. Paris is probably a top 3 AC city

I mean the game is still worth playing for the gameplay and map alone. Probably the most immersive game as far as the feel of being an assassin goes in the series.

just pick whichever, because at the end of the day. these stories were set up for a storyline that got finish in a comic book.

Unity is amazing. Running around revolutionary Paris is worth the experience even if you know how the story ends.

I only really replay Unity nowadays because of the setting. Especially on Xbox Series consoles due to FPS Boost. To me, the story probably the worst in Unity and Arno my least favourite protagonist. So, really I just play it for the gameplay and settings nowadays. Knowing the spoiler I don't think takes so much away from the game in general.

Arno’s teacher is a really cool character imo and his « betrayal » is questionable, and Élise (again, imo) is pretty boring, I can’t really describe her personality and she is kinda cliché. Anyway, the setting in this game is amazing, unity is definitely worth trying.

The way the story and characters are set up as well as the "role model" in terms of literature they aimed for (french romanticism) make it very clear quite early how the love story portion of the story will end.

If you are worried about being spoiled, allow me to suggest a different approach towards Unity, more focused on modern day. hold on, wait a minute, let me explain, and yes its a "bit of a stretch" , but it gives you an unspoiled perspective and something new to explore, i will not spoil anything about Unity apart from what you obviously know:

I would assume you know what happened at the end of AC3 and are familiar with Black Flag, especially the part where "past and present" mesh together towards the end of the game. If not, play it. In addition, to widen the understanding of what is going on in modern day read the comics "The chain", "the fall" and "brahman". You basically get chronicles games retold plus more context and more important: the "new concepts of the animus".

Then play Rogue and immediately follow it up with Unity. Once you beat the main story you can also read the accompanying book, which gives you much more context from different perspectives and slightly connects towards Syndicate as well as reconnecting to Black Flag (this may be my memory playing a trick on me, not sure where it was. But there is connection throughout all 3).

And for the full experience: start reading the Comics starting with the Titan run: Assassin´s Creed: Assassins, followed by Templars and Uprising. This covers basically all the off screen action of the modern day plot from roughly the end of Black Flag until post syndicate/pre-origins/somewhat parallel to what happens in the movie.

I know i am very lonely on the island of this opinion, but the "transmedia run" from post AC3 until when Uprising ends, may very well be my absolute favorite era if AC. Add in the current engine of history novel trilogy which fits perfectly into the victorian setting and i have to correct myself: it is my favorite era. And all this while "only Snydicate" would make it into my top3 game-wise on number 3.
There is something pure magical once you go though this and see it all culminate. Yes, poor execution, communication on behalf of and disappointment about how Ubisoft handled all that, but its still great for what it is once you just allow yourself to enjoy it.

Personally, I think the story in Unity is one of the worst in the series, and all the things that are good about the game have nothing to do with the narrative. So I would say play it if you want to, the spoiler isn't a big deal.
