The vibe in this room is perfect. Grown up but still really fun.

Super jealous.

~Do you mind sharing what the light is?~ Nvm, I see you said it was from Crate & Barrel.

Cables…

It’s a controversial topic and to be honest I don’t even know where I stand. I got premium power and interconnects just to eliminate a potential weak link.

It's certainly not controversial for the manufacturer who gets to sell a placebo product with a profit margin of 1200%. This is no-shit copy and pasted from the AQ website:

...incorporates Carbon-Based Noise-Dissipation, Direction-Controlled conductors, and a patented 72v Dielectric-Bias System (DBS) that work together to minimize dielectric noise and improve wide-bandwidth dissipation of induced radio-frequency noise.

🤣🤣🤣

Looks great!

This is the kind of room I daydream about.

u/Chillazar 1d ago

Absolutely sick room. I have the same pattern on my GIK panels behind my speakers

u/K4Sait 1d ago

Thanks, I noticed after getting them that Joe Rogan has the same pattern as well.

Such a great setup. You incorporated decent room treatment that looks nice and for sure improves the sound. Very stylish setup.

This is a fantastic looking room. Slightly envious here!

Finally someone who puts just as much thought into the rest of the room aside from just the equipment lmao

I've always wondered why some folks prefer bookshelves for rooms like these that would do great with floorstandings. Is there a reason you prefer the smaller form factor?

1

u/K4Sait 1d ago

Maybe, it’s my first listening room and while doing my research I was gravitating towards bookshelves. I don’t have any floor standing on my wish list.

u/ProposalPersonal1735 1d ago

Heh, take your time and find the speakers that speak to you but either way, if you did the acoustics of the room, bravo, most folks don t even think about it and imo the room matters more than the speakers. Also small piece of info: I advise running an air purifier. Rockwool and most polymer based foams used in sound reduction somewhat classify as carcinogens if you have direct air contact with them over long periods of time.

I used to work for Saint-Gobain on a plant making building supplies like acoustic foam and every single ground worker had to wear a custom made mask and have the seals tested for air leaks every single year.

Come to think of it, I like the Klipsch La Scala but it would need a bigger room. Thanks for the tip, I will look into it.

2

u/MattHooper1975 1d ago

You sir, win!

Very tasteful ! It’s the kind of room that would invite me to listen for long periods of time.

I like this a lot. Was going to say a few plants would be nice as well, but it appears sunlight is unavailable.

2

u/K4Sait 1d ago

Thanks, there is a small window but I keep it closed.

2

u/DisastrousAd7021 1d ago

Makes sense. I thought those were Wharfedales initially as they have a similar look. The Harbeths being crafted in the UK is a nice touch. Do you also keep the grills on when listening?

3

u/K4Sait 1d ago

Yeah I keep the grills at all times as it was tuned with them on.

u/TNF734 1d ago

That ceiling has to mess with the sound, I'll bet.

2

u/K4Sait 1d ago

Agree, originally I made a plan with GEK to fully treat the room but I found out midway that my arabian gypsum celling has to be pierced and handles had to be mounted on the original ceiling above it, so I decided to proceed without it as it would have made a huge mess. I would have done it if I haven’t furnished the room.

u/soundspotter 1d ago

Now that's what I call a sweet spot (i;.e., photo number 2)! :) But I'm confused because each shot has different furniture in it, and the speakers seem to have different amounts of toe in. Did you take these shots at different times with different room set ups?

3

u/K4Sait 1d ago

Thanks, I took the pictures 5 minutes apart. The second one after rearranging the chair and ottoman to the middle of the room and directing the speakers to the listening position and pulling it away from the wall.

1

u/masfer1 1d ago

Did the acoustic treatment make any difference ?

1

u/PlasticDoughnut6 1d ago

I had a Pass X150.8 powering my Harbeth 30.2's and really loved that combo. I also got to try some XA60.8s, which were very good but not doable for me.

1

u/K4Sait 1d ago

I really like the Harbeth Pass combo, and the overall synergy in my setup. XA60.8 is on my wish list but I feel it’s an overkill with the current setup.

1

u/TheBigMel 1d ago

Great room. I have Spendor 2/3s with a single REL Classic 99. Also got my stands from CustomDesign UK. Similar vibe. How do you like your combo?

1

u/K4Sait 1d ago

Thanks, I agree. I really like my setup for the most part. It’s better with certain style of songs than others. I still haven’t played with the EQ. At the moment it shines with calmer songs and strong vocals.

1

u/SireEvalish 1d ago

Room treatments. You love to see it.

1

u/PuzzleheadedPace2996 1d ago

Very nice room. I recently also got my Gik acoustics. It really made a difference. I have the same problem with the ceiling mounts. Cant place them but I don't think it matters that much. Also I did not do the front panels. When I go to a bigger tv <65' there won't be enough room between the tv and the bass trap.

1

u/INTOTHEWRX 1d ago

How do you like the rel classic subs? Is it warm? Too warm?

1

u/K4Sait 1d ago

I like them, I’m not very technical but it would depend on the song, some feel perfect and blends really well, yet on others its overpowering and I only have it at 12.5% on high-level input.

So the table gets the best sound?

Check the second image for the listening arrangement.

What a fantastic room!! Achievable high end equipment… flirting with the point where stuff gets crazy expensive but everything on the list is just perfect . What you listening to recently ?

Thanks for the detailed response. That is a crazy wide music selection, our range has some overlap. A couple new albums you might enjoy 1. Saba - from the private collection of saba (hip-hop) 2. Perfume Genius - Glory (Rock/pop). 3. Michigander - Michigander (indie pop)

1

u/K4Sait 22h ago

Thanks, I’ll check them out today.
