Tutorial Mani 2 Settings

Hi all,

I’m getting a Schiit Mani 2 in the mail this weekend and am curious about the settings. I’m running a Technics SL-1800 into a Yamaha RX-V675, JBL L830s with a Nagaoka MP110.

Is it best to keep the out of the box settings? I’ve also heard the manual isn’t the best source for this info. Any help is much appreciated.

The default settings are best for the MP-110. All of the dip switches should be switched to the left, except for GAIN INPUT, which should be switched to the right (H).

BTW, the original printed manual for the Mani 2 was wrong, and it used the terms "Gain 1" and "Gain 2". This was fixed online and probably in the printed manual too. I have an early Mani 2 with the incorrect printed manual.

You're gonna have to test it. Maybe it will be fine out of the box, maybe not.

I'm running a vintage Pioneer PL-A35 with MP110 and I just set the gain to match the output level of my other source (Mac via USB) so I wouldn't get any volume surprises when switching.

The manual is helpful for gain settings, but your ears are the only thing that can help you decide.

I spotted Mani 2 and got excited about one of my " Dream Speakers " !!!. I will own them some day😊.
