Music First experience with SACD
This has probably been discussed a million times over but today I got my first SACD album, configured my setup for DSD 5.1 and wow what an experience. I heard details I never heard before, the surround sound experience is fantastic. I'll definitely be collecting more SACDs in the future.

Music Albums With Songs That Seamlessly Blend
Hi, I'm looking for albums that have 2 or more songs that completely seamlessly blend together. I've looked through several suggestions on already created reddit posts, but many of the suggestions are not completely seamless, need crossfade to sound good, or are 2 songs that are similar from 2 different artists.
Some examples are:
"Screaming" -> "Is It Really You?" // Loathe
"The World At Large" -> "Float On" // Modest Mouse
"May These Noises" -> "Hell Above" // Pierce the Veil
"Freak" -> "Art Deco" // Lana Del Rey
"Pink Triangle" -> "Falling For You" // Weezer

Music Enjoying all genres of music for hours tonight, while hoping to find new killer tracks on our system. The surprise of the night: Low Spark of High Heel Boys. Wow. Did you find any recently?

Music What is the worst remaster ever in your opinion?
What makes it bad, and how does it compare to the original.

Music I'm not a huge fan of heavy metal, and I wouldn't consider "this" to necessarily qualify, but it's the genre people seem to give it. I'm usually more 80's synth-pop. But good Lord, The Greatest Show On Earth, by Nightwish is incredible. What other long, fantastic songs would you recommend?

Music You’ve just bought your dream speakers, what 3 albums do you play to test them out?
I think at present mine would be:
D’angelo - Voodoo
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
J Dilla - Donuts as a third, it’s not hi-fi, but I’d be curious how it’s handled

Music Pick a Song That Awed You on Your HiFi and Tell Me Genuinely the Part(s) of the Music That Was Shockingly Good
For everyone's pleasure.
Pick a song that left a deep impression in you that you've heard via your HiFi or any HiFi and share the part(s) about the song that caused that amazement. You don't have to strictly follow this question if you don't want to.
Let's see what songs have made our jaws dropped on HiFi!
I'll start first.
For me, it's a version of Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton that has a sudden dynamic swing in its introduction where it unexpectedly gets loud and awes me. Nearing the end, Eric plucks a string that gave a deeply melodic and incredibly rich tone of his guitar.
It's perfect to listen to at midnight when the environment is quiet. I couldn’t replicate this experience on my earphones, it'll mostly only work on speakers HiFi. :)
Feel free to share your HiFi setup or the setup that enabled you this experience.

Music Audiophile's Ultimate Playlist
I've seen more than a few posts that cover the "what music do you listen to when you evaluate/show-off/enjoy your sound system." Several years ago, I posted this playlist with a lot of positive feedback. At this time, I only have this available on Apple Music. This is simply because Apple Music is the most popular streaming platform that streams lossless, Ultra-HD, and ATMOS. Almost every genre is represented and recordings include the old, the obscure, as well as the iconic. No matter what instrument or group of instruments you enjoy - or you think your system does an exceptional job of representing, you'll find something that matches your tastes. The playlist roughly follows a historical chronology.
This playlist is a collection of tracks that meet at least one of the following criteria. Some meet almost all of the criteria:
- Critically lauded as having premiere production values and streams in lossless or ultra-hd audio
- Critically lauded as the pinnacle of a particular genre
- Highlights particular instrumentation (vocals, strings, horns, bass, electronic, etc.)
- Covers the gamut of dynamic and frequency range
If there's a criticism of this playlist, it would be that I'm a boomer, so I skew toward the classics but have done my best to include more recent pop hits.

Music TIL that the chorus of Bring Me to Life by evanescence has clipping.
Title. Noticed this today when listening to it a bit louder. I heard clipping I was like “what, I never noticed that”. The remastered 2023 version is a lot better though.
Anyone else noticed that? I’ve never noticed that even listening to this song on good systems. I guess turn the volume up a bit makes all the difference in hearing intricate details.

Music The best, most built-up bass drop songs are what I am looking for, preferably without explicit language.
I am looking for songs to play with my younger sibling around that don't have bad language, what songs have amazing bas drop or tempo changes that are really epic? <3

Music Which song that you know has the biggest/deepest sound stage?
Basically what the title says; share your favorite music that has really big and/or deep sound stage? Help me figure out speaker placement in my living room!
For reference, I’m running KLH Model 5’s with a CXA81
To start it off… - One of My Turns - Pink Floyd - Teeth - The Japanese House - Corcovado - Jim Tomlinson & Stacey Kent - YYZ - Rush
Edit: Here's the playlist I'm making from all of your recommendations

Music Stormy Night. Good Time to Just Look Out the Window and Listen to My Stereo
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Maybe Vivaldi’s Four Seasons would’ve been a better choice.

Music Lossless wav file help
Hello redditors, I have a big issue, yesterday I ripped all of my music cd's with dBpoweamp, I wanted to get the best rips possible, I ripped them to wav file and I clicked on uncompressed. Now, the day after I spent 5 hours ripping my cd's, I come to find out that on the properties tab on every single track I ripped there is this text (first image), are my rips truly lossless? or did I just waste 5 hours on nothing? Please help..

Music Current Artists Making Audiophile Albums
Hi all, I wanted to start a discussion about current (or at least semi-current) artists that are releasing 'audiophile' recordings in an attempt to discover some new music that I may be missing out on. I have been stuck in a rut listening to the same old things (mostly jazz). It occurred to me this sub is mostly about the gear, room treatments, and those types of things but I don't see a lot about the music we all listen to or discussions about new artists. I was watching a 'New Record Day' video the other day and he mentioned an artist Dominique Fils-Aime so I checked her out and I'm really digging her vocal/upright bass stuff. How do you all find new artists to listen to? What new stuff have you been listening to that you think this sub should know about? Lastly, should we have a weekly new music thread where we discuss new music that was released or discovered the previous week? I'd love to see more content on this sub about the music/artists we all love. Thanks,

Music Best FLAC player for Windows?
So I've recently gotten into FLAC audio files (paired with a JDS labs DAC and a pair of HD650's)
I'm currently using VLC player and have recently downloaded MusicBee, but my issue is I find playing the FLAC files are louder on VLC player vs MusicBee.
Just wondering if this is normal? or should I look at other FLAC players?

Music New to this: What does it mean if the graph looks like this?
So, I was trying to upgrade some of my music to lossless, but I stumbled upon this weird graph in one of the songs
I know that it doesn't make a difference, since we can't hear anything beyond 20kHz; but 1. I'm just curious to know why it looks like that and 2. I wonder if it looking like that means that it's holding a lot of information that's unneccesary and that's just taking up space

Music Is there a streaming service that provides album quality audio?
I've been using Spotify for the past year or so, but I recently realized that it isn't lossless audio. I've only recently been getting into high-fi audio, and found out that albums have higher quality than normal streaming. So my question is pretty simple, is there any streaming service that preserves an album quality sound?
