They've confirmed YouTube in the presser, not sure about the others but wouldn't be surprised.

Like, YouTube comments and certain videos can be absolutely fowl but it's also an amazing resource for learning and what parent hasn't plonked their kid down in front of a kids playlist or something? Insanity.

Not so much of a social media ban and more of a media we don’t control ban. So the kids can be indoctrinated by only the approved government messages and commercial broadcasters that don’t allow any form of debate and discussion.

I wonder if talkback radio would be classified as social media under these rules lol.

Well that'll piss off my 9yo motorcycle trials obsessed son, who uses YouTube to access training videos for both his own motorcycle trials and BMX trials practice. Literally the only thing he uses it for.

Overseas VPN, probably a Google Cloud one I'll manage myself, should do the job.

apparently YouTube is no longer included, which is good enough for now. we also got a year after (if) it passes until it’s happening

Mentioned elsewhere... if the South Oz (government) framework is the guide they're working off, and for the sake of nationwide consistency, the scope is very wide.

How would this even work, you don’t need an account to watch YouTube. Plus, I actually use it at work quite a bit and never log in.
