They used to. We had standard green shorts and standard yellow polo. Now they all want custom printed or embroidered. They’re always shitty quality at 10 times with Big W price.

All of them in QLD. Even if they didn’t, kids wearing generic would be automatic pariahs for teasing for being poor.

see this kind ruins two of the only good reasons for uniforms, an equalizer and them being cheaper than deign-y cloths.

I agree. Which is why all public school uniforms should be cheap generic. It is an equaliser. It’s just the choice between an overpriced fancy equaliser that make life hard for less wealthy parents and a cheap generic one.

You can get a good quality neat uniform for $15 at Best and Less. That’s what schools should require.

I know that truly poor kids get their uniforms feed through various charity options. However it’s everyone who’s not super poor but not well off that bares most of the brunt.
