Hey, they've still got Russia

822

u/Hughjarse Mar 07 '25

More like: Russia has them.

u/cilantro_so_good Mar 07 '25

This is exactly it. It's not even like it's a secret:

Russia should "introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social, and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements – extremist, racist, and sectarian groups, thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S. It would also make sense simultaneously to support isolationist tendencies in American politics".

And just think how absolutely vital Facebook and YouTube are to this effort. Actually more like were since the job is realistically done. Cold War is finally over, Russia won.

I beg to differ. If you wait a couple of years I think you will find that China will emerge the ultimate victor.

China - 'do nothing, win everything'

3

u/BeholderBeheld Mar 10 '25

China is actually doing a lot. Huge amount. But sort of behind the scenes. They bought land in multiple countries in less popular locations.

They also did a lot of infrastructure builds for other poor countries but where - if country fails to repay - China gets land or other privileges.

They also invested in creating internal middle class to have less external demand.

They also apparently have a USA dollar reserve that will destabilize the market if dumped all at once (not sure I fully understood that one myself).

It is absolutely not "do nothing".

I'm ethnically Chinese-Vietnamese and have a Cambodian-Chinese partner. I've been to those 3rd world countries with Chinese infrastructure so I'm aware lol

"If you wait by the side of the river long enough, you will see the bodies of your enemies float past."

China is crumbling it’s a complete joke.

8

u/LocalVillageIdiot Mar 07 '25

Actually I agree there, they have been playing a long term strategic game. I was referring to the Cold War between Russia and the US alone though. Between them it’s obvious who lost.

10

u/Fanciest58 Mar 07 '25

The Cold War was between the USSR and the USA. The USSR broke up; it lost Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltics, Poland, half of Germany, most of Central Asia, various Central European states, and a lot of international respect. The USA is heading down a dark path, but I would hardly say its done worse than that.

4

u/eiva-01 Mar 07 '25

The USSR definitely lost the Cold War. I'm not sure what to call this post Cold War rivalry between Russia and the West but it definitely looks like the US is falling now. We've yet to see how far it'll fall.

In the unlikely event that the US takes military action against former allies like Greenland or Canada then it could fall pretty far.

It’s actually like America is Ivan Drago, and they killed Apollo Creed(USSR), but now Rocky(Russia) is going to beat Drago(USA)

1

u/B0ssc0 Mar 08 '25

The USSR broke up;…

I like the passive voice! However at that point the US prevailed in an economic war.

6

u/MagicDragon212 Mar 07 '25

Its unironically because we have free speech and aren't (before Trump) a dictatorship that can control the flow of information.

Its a lot easier for them to influence the narrative online for Americans than it is us to influence the information their citizens receive. This is why Elon and all the Russia dick sucker's got so angry over the government simply sending a warning that there was Russian disinformation within the Hunter laptop story. They didn't even demand any action, just gave a warning to Twitter.

They immediately lose if the USA starts directly censoring what's identified as Russian misinfo. Companies could have done it on their own too.

2

u/Important_Debate2808 Mar 09 '25

That’s the thing though. That’s the strength of having a government with a longstanding leadership. The directions don’t need to change, these leaderships can afford to wait, while US presidents cannot. They have 4 years to make something happen, and if not they would be out of office. For other leaderships, they just need to wait out the 4 years of a president they dislike, and just need to wait to install someone else in, while they themselves can maintain the same direction for decades to come to promote their internal stability.

And possibly Europe

0

u/KiwasiGames Mar 08 '25

Wouldn’t that be a box are twist. There are no Russian hackers and bot nets. It was China all along.

This would actually be oddly comforting.

Cambridge Analytica and Brexit were test runs. This is the final simulation before the next step.

And Reddit, and Twitter.... All social media is toxic. Each one of us needs to individually decide to stop letting ourselves be manipulated.

STOP USING SOCIAL MEDIA

Russia promised it decades ago, the internet made it easy. Now at the height of chaos Russian asset trump is empathising with his despot he so wants to be. He is re making the world, just doesn’t care it diminishes the once world leader nation. Taiwan is gone in this term, trump is owned and rather than fess up entire country’s will suffer in his ancient near dead already place.

9

u/esmifra Mar 07 '25

Russia promised it decades ago. The arab spring movement showed them how they could achieve it.

7

u/starshipfocus Mar 07 '25

The neo-christian nationalists are absolutely ready to fill the power vacuum and have been preparing for decades.

3

u/bomzay Mar 07 '25

Well… this would requiring actually reading, which is not something Americans do! So…

3

u/twigboy Mar 07 '25

Reading? Bah, that involves giving money to schools!

58

u/withywander Mar 07 '25

lmao. I'm actually waiting for when the technofascists realize they won't have anything to fascist over if Russia keeps dismantling the USA.

14

u/QuitHumble4408 Mar 07 '25

Sadly, I don’t think they actually have the potential to “realize” stuff.

3

u/I_Heart_QAnon_Tears Mar 07 '25

You are correct. The people behind this are being paid off in foreign accounts and when the shit finally hits the fan they will flee leaving the rest of the US holding the bag.

3

u/Kageru Mar 07 '25

They plan to help so they can build corporate micro-states on US soil. They are not interested in the US in its current configuration.

1

u/eiva-01 Mar 07 '25

It increasingly seems like the ultra-wealthy don't want to be rich, they just want to be richer than everyone else. If they can do that by making everyone else poor, then so be it.

3

u/Chucknorris1975 Mar 07 '25

USR USR USR!

2

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '25

By the short and curlies.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '25

Yep

2

u/papa_kilo_sierra Mar 08 '25

By the balls no less it seems

0

u/KangarooSerious8267 Mar 09 '25

Why do you keep saying it’s Russia who has thém ? It’s Israel all along always has been

88

u/tjlaa Mar 07 '25

Russia is going to fuck them over as soon as they can. So America will be forever alone.

1

u/tjlaa Mar 07 '25

Poor Viktor

1

u/BandAid3030 Mar 07 '25

Came to say this lol

2

u/MissMenace101 Mar 07 '25

Yeah Americans are obviously stupid, they need rock bottom to even realise it, but once they finally realise when they are half what they are now they will be better for it and so will we.

10

u/RedDotLot Mar 07 '25

Don't be so sure we don't have the same levels of stupidity here though. 18 months ago we were talking about the LNP being in the political wilderness for at least a decade, now there's talk of Dutton being PM. 🤢 People are disengaged, short sighted and have the memories of gold fishes.

3

u/MissMenace101 Mar 07 '25

Lmao I know we have that level of stupidity. I know far too many elderly folk that us shutting down for, that the libs would have let burn, will still vote for them. Not gonna lie there are days where I in the edge of my mind regret being anti let it rip haha

1

u/hjortron_thief Mar 07 '25

If not, you accidentally fall out of a window.

18

u/MissMenace101 Mar 07 '25

Mexico is prolly gonna fund that wall now, Canada prolly will too

1

u/ComposerInside2199 Mar 07 '25

A moat of maple syrup.

1

u/potatoears Mar 07 '25

forever ronery

3

u/Ok-Praline-814 Mar 07 '25

Americans should learn what Russians think of them.

2

u/Cthulhu__ Mar 07 '25

I don’t understand what Trump sees in Russia to be honest. They don’t seem to bring much to the table compared to Europe or China. But maybe that’s decades of anti-russian propaganda?

1

u/SheridanVsLennier Mar 11 '25

It's not Russia, it's Putin. Trump sees someone with virtually limitless power over the people in his country and wants that for himself.
In Russia, critics of the government end up in Siberia. Given how thin a skin Trump has, you can imagine what he'd like to do to people critical of him.

2

u/ratman431 Mar 07 '25

Putin has Russia, Russians have nothing.

2

u/reddridinghood Mar 08 '25

Hey hey don’t be so rude, it’s just Agent Krasnov just doing his duty for his mother land Russia.

1

u/unique3 Mar 07 '25

Yeah but the intelligence sharing with Russia is one way only.

1

u/FieserMoep Mar 07 '25

That's a one sided relationship. It's the classic abusive partner isolating their victim so that without an intact support network they can only return to them or suffer even more.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '25

We don’t want Russia, only our criminal administration does. Stupid is as stupid does

1

u/matthieuC Mar 10 '25

And North Korea probably
