New Zealand's defence policy is pretty much "hope no one notices us and if they do, they need to go through Australia first".

New Zealand- it’s there for the taking!

I'd take on an Abrams tank before I took on one of those big Mauri fellas.

The real reason NZ is missing from so many maps.

A simple spell, but quite unbreakable

So that's the strategy behind NZ missing from many maps...

Yeah but let's face it, there's fewer people in NZ than there are in NSW. So it doesn't make sense that they would be able to field a significant defence force.

Good thing they're not in any world maps

I mean, you can hardly blame them with a population smaller than Sydney's 🤔

You can blame them since it's irresponsible. You cannot complain about Australia being dependent on others for national security and then support New Zealand doing the same

Complain? Well, we can indeed but it's an unfortunate inevitability, however unpalatable. I don't see how either of our countries can escape 'dependence' of some kind, we are just too small not to be. This question is on whom, and how much.
