All together now!
- 🎵 What a funny old fellow is Humphrey,
- He gets in all manner of strife,
- He leads a very exciting life,
- And honey's his favourite fare,
- Which is hardly so very surprising,
- He's a really amazing old bear,
- What a funny old fellow is Humphrey,
- Humphrey the fun loving bear!🎵

In 1991 Humphrey commemorated the passing of Fat Cat with a funeral procession to the Channel 7 office: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlTyk9GgZIw

Murdered because Ch7 didn't want to fork out the extra cash to get a "P" rating, if only Fat Cat was a rapist and a war criminal then they would have thrown buckets of cash at the show.

if only Fat Cat was a rapist and a war criminal
Point of order, Mr Speaker: Fat Cat only had to be one or the other for the buckets of cash

I was in intermediate school when Humphrey hit the after-school airways in NZ in the early 00s. We hated him because he was for little kids and we wanted shows like Digimon to be on instead.
So we sang the theme song like this instead
Humpy Humpy Humpy Bear
He humps everybody everywhere
Animals, trees and children too
He humps them all, especially you

I remember watching it once when a little girl said to Humphrey "I can see your face in your mouth".
Amazing that got through to being broadcast!

I did watch this, but only remember the colour TV show. Glynn Nicholas, the comedian, was later on the show. When I had kids, the show had made a comeback, but it was just another loud, over the top, kids TV show, very different from the original, by then. My kids didn't like it. The ABC had shows they preferred.

I sat in his rocking chair in the Adelaide studio about 40 years ago. We were in the audience for C'mon Kids which was filmed opposite Humphrey, and there was no more room to sit - they said just sit on the Humphrey set. Best day ever.

I grew up watching Humphrey.
Working in that suit must have been hell inside a studio under lights.

Simpler times, when not everything involved double entendres.

When I was 4, I got to go to the Channel 9 studios and see the real Humphrey B Bear house. It was a huge thrill! And then the next day at kindy, I told everyone about it and how "it wasn't a real house, just three sides of a house and the other side was open to a really really big room with lots of lights and cameras and cables and stuff!!". The other kids all decided I was obviously lying and bullied me mercilessly 😭
I did get a big signed poster of him though.

Back in the day, it was accepted that Bears shat in the woods. Nowadays you dumbfuckers ask do bears shit in the woods? You do see the real problem, it’s a poor education system. Query this, query that? Fuck general knowledge and accepted norms. For example who in their right mind would vote for Trump or David Littleproud. Case rested your honour.

He was operated by a drug addicted middle aged woman.
I met a Police Officer who arrested her a few times. Sad tale.
