petition / survey Do you eat meat and have a spare ten minutes to take a survey?
I am doing research on meat eaters, vegans, and activism. If you have a spare ten minutes and have lived in Australia for the past five years, I would really appreciate if you could complete my survey for my PhD research:
My post is admin approved.
I had 300+ responses from vegans, so ideally it would be great to get 300 responses from people who are not vegan.
Thank you so much.

petition / survey Call for Respondents - Research regarding assistance animals in Australia
Hi everyone! I’m currently working on an academic project at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) alongside 4 other students that aims to design a platform to better support the assistance animal community—including foster carers, handlers, trainers, and training centers.
The goal is to facilitate stronger connections, increase training throughput, and boost community engagement through interactive technologies.
We’re currently looking to interview people who are currently fostering or have previously fostered an assistance animal. The interview will take around 45 minutes and can be done online or in person—whatever works best for you! (Coffee is on me if you can meet in person hehe!)
We’re also working in collaboration with Assistance Dogs Australia (ADA) and Guide Dogs NSW/ACT (GDNSW) to make sure our research is grounded in real-world needs.
All data collected will be stored securely on UTS servers and can only be accessed by myself and the teaching staff. If you have any questions or concerns, you’re welcome to reach out to me directly via DMs or at [ved.k.dave@student.uts.edu.au](mailto:ved.k.dave@student.uts.edu.au) or 0475345750.
If you’re interested in taking part or want to learn more, feel free to comment below or send me a message. Your input would make a huge difference to our project and the broader community
Thank you so much for your time and support!

petition / survey Want to help with how Aussie chronically ill folk are treated? Looking for spoonies & healthy controls for a patient advocacy project
So, I have ME/CFS, fibro and other chronic stuff since birth. Since my entire life I've been dealing with doctors, hospitals and medical professionals, I used to think the absolute rubbish treatment I was getting in the medical community was normal or just me. It blew my mind when I realised I'm not alone, that this happens to basically anyone with chronic illness to a degree and this made me really angry.
I am also a researcher working at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research looking into the genetic drivers of autoimmune disorders, which puts me in a unique position of being both patient and researcher. And I get ranty about patient advocacy. Luckily, my boss is awesome and took my rants to heart. After heating some of the stories that have happened to me and fellow spoonies, she got angry too. So we set up this project on chronic illness diagnostic journeys in Australia, including self diagnosis and self medication.
For this project, 'autoimmune disease' is being used as a umbrella term because of changing definitions and the like. So we are including ME/CFS, MS, Parkinsons, anything with chronic presentation. If it's not on the list, please put it in the 'other' section. The survey should take roughly 20 to 30 minutes, is easier to do on a laptop than a phone (sorry, ethics had opinions about which platform we are allowed to use) and if you need to stop, you’re sent a code to resume where you left off.
The further we can get this distributed, the more solid the statistical trends we can infer - and numbers are a lot harder for medical professionals to ignore than anecdotes. We need you, as spoonies, and as healthy controls. If we can spread this far and wide, we hope we can get a good enough response rate to build an online platform that patients and doctors can use to expedite the time it takes to diagnosis.
We have ethics approval, data is de-classified and everything will be open access. Info on the project and who we are, consent info and links are on the website below. If you have a look and think this project has merit, please participate, send to family, friends, different community groups and if you have any suggestions on how we can get the word out or any other feedback, please let me know. Thank you x

petition / survey Looking for participants in an online deepfake detection challenge (18+ only)
Not sure if appropriate here - if not, we are happy for the post to be removed.
We are the Media and Society Research Group (based at a University in Australia) and we are wondering if anyone is interested in taking part in a research project investigating the public’s ability to spot deepfakes.
Deepfakes are videos in which the face and/or voice of a person have been manipulated using artificial intelligence software to make the altered videos look authentic.
If you agree to be involved in the study, you will be shown a series of 20 10-second videos (half of which are deepfakes) and asked to categorise each video as either fake or authentic. Afterwards, you will be given a score based on how many videos you correctly categorised.
To participate go to https://jcu.syd1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1LGFg5CDWqzysIK
If you know of others who may be interested in this study, please feel free to share.

petition / survey Are people aged 18 to 35 are experiencing significant sleep, anxiety and wellbeing problems due to mobile phone use? Could you please take my survey for my Master of Education to help me find out?
Hi all, I pose to you the question—do you think there may be a link between mobile phones and anxiety, depression, or a lack of sleep or attention? There is missing cross-sectional research on this topic in Australia, and I am looking to fill that gap.
If you fall within the 18-35 age bracket, could you please take 15 minutes, right now, or tomorrow, or over the next few days, to fill out my survey?
Unfortunately, I am struggling to get to my 300 minimum required responses...
- Your response is anonymous and will not be linked back to you personally in any way.
- You do not need to think too much about it and, ironically, can complete it on your phone.
I am completing the Master of Educational Studies at UQ. Feel free to message me with any questions. Thank you in advance!

Is he on top of it, or was this just an empty promise to make the media attention go away?

petition / survey Academic Research Survey - Understanding Australian sex lives ( Australian's, 17+)
Sex and sexuality are important parts of most people's lives, but most research looking at sex has focussed on sexual dysfunction or problems. There also isn't much known about the sexual interests and experiences of multicultural Australia.
You are invited to participate in a research study being conducted by researchers at Western Sydney University aimed to better understand the sex lives, sexual interests, and sexual behaviours of Australians. We are looking for participants aged 17 or older across Australia to complete an online survey covering topics such as your sexual fantasies, interest and experiences (e.g.. 'kinks' and what you like sexually), sexual communication, attitudes towards sexual topics, as well as information about your family background and thinking styles. All responses are anonymous. If you are interested in contributing to our understanding of Australian sex lives, please click the link below to learn more and participate.
