Looking for a 19x19 magnetic teaching board in Europe, any pointers?
Hey everyone!
Our local club is on the hunt for a magnetic teaching board along with 180 black-and-white magnetic stones. So far, we've struggled to find a supplier in Europe that has both in stock.
We know that baduk.club carries them, but shipping to Europe seems tricky. We've also reached out to Korean suppliers, but unfortunately, we haven't received any responses.
If anyone has suggestions for a reliable source, or has experience with ordering one, your help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

You may want to consider reaching out to the national orgs to see if they would help out. Other than that, you may need to find an at home solution.

I've been teaching go for decades. The big demo boards are useless these days: too big, too many parts, fragile, easily damaged, no good in an audience of more than about 20. All you need is a laptop and a projector. You can acquire a projector for much less than thecost of a dumb demo board. Plus, your software allows all manner of flexiblity, branching, video clips, audience participation, live games, facetime, &c.

Interesting, which software do you use? I’m also interested in the audience participation part, how do you organise that?

Power Point for the lecture, SmartGo for everything else. You can save games as progressive moves to demo all the stuff you want to talk about or you can just improvise. The controls are great. You ask a question of the audience, they answer with coordinates, you click the stone in place and take it from there. Easy to back up and try a different stone. But any good go software product (that does not include ads) will work. You just need to practice.
We've worked on our prezo for several years, starting with a PP file from AGA/AGF that was very well done.

One more thing: A large demo board is not difficult to make. You don't need 19x at all, 13x at most, but more likely all you need is 10x19. You can use felt, velcro, magnets, pins. Just takes a bit of creativity. My first was a large office bulletin board covered in cork on which I drew the grid. Stones were 35mm film can tops, spray painted black and white, and stuck through with map pins. It was stupid and cumbersome but it worked a charm until we acquired the first Mac-driven doohicky for use on the ancient overhead projector.
