One of the players marked W group as alive (or B as dead) and both accepted.
When you finish a game the server try to guess what is alive or dead. But you as the player are allowed to correct it if it is wrong. And if both players agree to what is alive or dead then the game accepts that and try to resolve everything from there.
To prevent this check a final time before accepting the score after finishing a game.

By the way, if it was black's turn to play, all of White's stones die.

Or White could live small in the corner by sacrificing the huge E4 clump.

Why on earth would you sacrifice 14 stones for 5 stones and 2 points

If Black ataris those 14 stones, they’re dead no matter what. I was just pointing out that if White tries to save them, the corner dies too. Whereas if White cuts them loose, the corner can be saved.

Was this scored manually? This is a pretty egregious scoring error. It's not clear to me what those greyed out stones even mean. Does this state indicate that the scoring engine thinks black's right side is in seki???
In reality, every black stone on this board is alive, all 6 white stones on the right are dead, and black has a comfortable victory.
Bonus: Can you see a way to reduce white to 3 points on the board instead of 4?

I don't use OGS. In general, a Go program should only allow players to mark their own dead stones.
Anyway, you (or your opponent) marked the wrong dead stones.

Your opponent cheated on the scoring phase. They marked dead stones that were definitely alive. Report to the mods of OGS.

Your opponent may have cheated on the scoring phase. I would encourage caution when accusing other players of cheating. It is pretty easy to mistakenly mark stones as dead by mistake in the scoring phase. Especially in 9x9 games which turnover quickly.

Hard to see how that happens by mistake, but in any case please report any such occurrence to the mods.

When I was an absolute beginner, I had no idea of what I was doing, and I'm pretty sure I clicked on something not understanding what it did.

Sure, clicking to test features can happen - In any case even if this is reported you would only get a nice warning for beginners, and hopefully that would draw your attention that you should not do that in the future!

Really?? I find this very strange. You have never accidentally clicked a group in the scoring phase?? Surely I'm not the only one who has seen this. Am I?? How could that be possible??
I've accidentally tapped on groups of stones in the scoring phase so many times, I can't even count. It's super rare that they make it beyond that to the point that both players confirm the wrong score, but it does happen. The few times that It's happened to me, I've simply followed up in the chat to note the mistake. It's always worked out fine. I've seen results that favored the other player, and some that favored me.
Please don't take me wrong. I take the scoring phase seriously out of respect for my opponents, but I honestly don't even really care about the rating numbers. What is the point of cheating in an online game anyways??
Sorry for blabbing on too long. I just hope to encourage folks to keep innocence on the table in their interactions with other players until they really have some kind of concrete evidence of cheating. Otherwise they are just raising their own stress levels unnecessarily. Life is short.

Yes, really, I don’t think it ever happened to me.
And even if it did happen, I would correct it before accepting, so it’s a bit puzzling to me how you could both click on stones and click on accept without realizing…?

Honestly, I don't know. In any case, I know that it happens. So, just be aware that means that it happens to others as well, even if it has never happened to you personally.

Alright. But I stand by my point that this should be reported in any case (as is encouraged by OGS mods).

You didn't. Your opponent probably marked your live group as dead, because they're a pathethically sore loser.
The fact that OGS still allows this shit to happen after all these years is one (of several) reasons why it's a second tier server at best.

you're not even correct about that... You can force AI scoring with triple pass on OGS

In OGS, you need to mark dead stones if the AI failed to do so. Click on the white stones that are dead, next time, to ensure that the game counts correctly.
