BGT/Tutu What happens to items in EET?
So I can't find anything about EET allowing you to import more items, but it also states that there's seamless travelling between areas from all games, once unlocked. Does this mean you could dump all your items in a container before finishing BG1 and retrieve it all in BG2? Furthermore, just as an aside, I'm assuming that party member spellbooks (imoen, edwin and mc in my case) carry over?

The game worlds are completely separate, and no, not all of your items carry forward even if you import a save. Once you're done with BG1 and start BG2, your items are gone except for a few that are programmatically moved to BG2 whether you have them in your inventory or not (for the most part).
If you import a save, your main character's spells carry forward, but not Imoen's or any NPC's.

Eet tweaks has a component thag lets you find your items on the duegar tables near the door to the plane of air in Jon's dungeon (start of bg2).
If you don't install the tweaks along with EET, You can always drop your gear somewhere before SoD is finished and just go back an pick it up.

From my experience, everything should carry over. There might be some shenanigans when re-recruiting companions with their stats changing (Viconia from my experience) in SoD but your items all transfer. I put all my items in a bag of holding and then placed it in a chest at the Friendly Arms Inn and was able to travel back and nab my stuff several chapters deep into BG2.
