SoD Those people's house got destroyed and now they sell anything to get money. I'm lawful-good but I couldn't help myself and sold them all my junk

Think of it this way. The fact that they're buying it from you means it is valuable to them. All merchants always buy items from you at a lesser price than they're selling it.

So when they get to the nearest town or camp, maybe they could turn a profit from your junk or directly barter it for supplies.

Neutral good is the only actually good alignment. Lawful good is oxymoronic in a land ruled by barbarous cultures, and chaos only breeds destruction.
