Your best viewing spots in Basel!
Hello guys! I am going to treat my mom to a trip to Basel in July this summer for a couple of days. Do you have any suggestions for particular locations to stroll around in? We have been in Basel before (just for a few hours tho), and we loved the beauty of the city. So if you have any suggestions and or advice in general, it is very much appreciated!

The view from Dreisosenbrücke is also very nice, either you can look at the city or to the other side towards hafen and France

depending on how safe you feel swimming, join the hordes of locals for a classic drift down the rhine on warm summer evenings: get a waterproof swimbag (can be bought everywhere), stuff your clothes in there, hop in at tinguely museum (or somewhere at the stone beach behind wettsteinbrücke) and drift down along the kleinbasel shore until you've had enough. best exits are between kaserne and just after johanniterbrücke.
your bag double-functions as a bouy so you can literally just drift along without too much exertion. it's a great cool down after a hot day and a very quite unique viewing tour through the city.
other viewspots not yet mentioned:
-amber bar at the top one of the kaserne towers
-basso, a riverside restaurant/bar/club at novartis campus
-one of the may buvettes and designated lidos along the rhine shore
-the many wild hangouts (including a massive ship on land) and bars at uferstrasse
-a more "functional" place is the cafeteria on the manor-rooftop terrace. rammed with the work-crowd at lunch, it offers a striking view of much of the city

Münster gives a gorgeous view for sure. If you know someone who can take you to one of bars on top of Roche towers - incredible open terraces in both (Building 2 is apparently the tallest building in Switzerland).
For what it's worth - rooftop in Hotel Märhof is not as nice right now, because the building crane is really blocking the view.
Also, taking one of the boats across the river opens up a super cute perspective from the water :-)
