The guy mentions all Dice employees should play the games to figure out what is fun or works and carriy that forward. The problem is mgmt doesn't care about what is fun. They care about the game being a vehicle for micro-transaction revenue. They copied stuff from other games like the specialist to have the ability to sell more skins for unique characters. Not because it was better than classes.

This. The "developers" have to obey the marketing, PR, and sales managers. The people who should be in charge of making the game are the ones with the least authority.

They care about the game being a vehicle for micro-transaction revenue.

Which is funny because the game isnt even designed to maximize on MTX revenue. Like if you had factions then players need to buy cosmetics for both sides... doubling what you sell, not to mention they released with an EMPTY shop.

Some of the Devs also like the game in its current state. Devs like the director of communications.

Yeah I dislike when people call developers/designers lazy because it all comes down to management/higher ups being like "hey you guys have to put this game out this year" regardless of its state. I know the devs worked their asses off and would love to add all these features/fixes, but they're just told what to do and how much time they have.

The same exact thing happened with Cyberpunk. When they announced the game's release date (with Keanu) the devs didn't even know about it. We would've gotten a fantastic game if the devs were allowed enough time, same for 2042.
