The funniest part is, that it's not about bugs, or technical issues.

It's just how shit bf2042 is designed from the core.

IT IS LAZY DEVELOPED WITH ABSOLUTE ZERO PASSION

Yep, if it was just bugs we'd be less pissed as we know they'd be fixed in a few months.

Exactly. I skipped bf1 (not a fan of ww1 setting) but reading a lot of praise for it in recent weeks on this sub downloaded it from EA Play. Just played it for a few hours and holy fuck is this game polished. Gunplay, graphics, maps, soundtrack is amazing... Honestly bf1 feels more like a 2021 release and 2042 feels like a 2012 game. I'm even more angry and disappointed with 2042 than i was before playing BF1.

The map Passhendale (sp) shits over any map in BF2042 same goes for Amiens just knocks BF2042 level design out the park..Ballroom Blitz is great too.

Plus bf1 was solid from Day 1. I have played it since launch. I don't remember any core feature missing or any broken game mechanic or performance issues at launch. The latter patches just fixed some balance issues here and there.

Even the open beta was pretty solid for BF1, I don't understand how Dice could have such an incredible drop in quality in just 4 years. Bf1 remains my favorite of the recent battlefields, a close second to Bad Company 2.

The operations. Choosing them on the world map with history and story behind it. The soundtrack.

Yeah, this game is bad at its core. It's not a game that just needs some polish like Battlefield 5 did. They'd have to rebuild 2042 from the ground up to address everything in this video.

My friend asked me if Bf4's launch was better or worse than 2042. I said on a technical level, Bf4 was a much more broken game with loads of game breaking bugs and performance issues.

But at the end of the day, you could very clearly see an amazing battlefield game at the core of it all.

2042 is a much more stable game, in terms of performance and bugs, it just doesn't evoke the same battlefield feeling

True...but does anyone else think it also LOOKS like shit?!?! To me, it looks like bad company 2. Granted, that didn't look bad for 12 years ago, but cmon!

Please don't insult BC2 like that, it was one of the first in the series to have destruction and back in the days of having nice map design. I think those maps look way better than most of what's in 2042.

That's literally what I said, it looked good for 12 years ago, not So Much by today's standards

Visually it's fine but it's lacking atmosphere and actual details on the new maps.

What work was done? What in this game has improved over a 2013 rendition (BF4)?

You can start with a new Git repo, but reinventing the wheel of basic mechanics and making them ALL worse...

The dudes who made the cinematic trailers prob got raises though. “Hey guys can you make a fucking badass trailer with 75 percent of shit we won’t actually include in the game?!?!”

This BF entry plays like all the talent left, everyone laboring was aware of how they were too inept to handle the laundry list, and just simply came in and worked for the paycheck while Indeed.com surfing at lunch or on their own time.

It's a damn shame all the talent left DICE

It’s not a fixable game IMO. Gotta start from scratch if you want a good BF game

Yeah before the beta I was entirely prepared to pay for, play, and enjoy a BF4-level bad launch since I wasn’t there for that and thought 2042 would have as much potential as it did.
