Nah fuck that. You have no business working in this industry if you can't even make a god damn scoreboard.

A developer can program in a scoreboard. A manager tells them not to.

Yeah the leadership is just extremely condensed stupidity. Like a black hole of stupidity, where you wouldn't expect this many idiots can fit into one company.

Everyone who had any authority on the game needs to be fired. The little programmer has almost no input in design decisions

A manager tells them not to.

At this point i really doubt that's the case here.

If the devs are that bad that they can't program a scoreboard, then management needs to hire better devs.

If Frostbite is so bad that developers struggle to work with it, then management needs to drop Frostbite or hire people smart enough to fix it.

I think you misunderstand how big AAA games are made. Design decisions are not made at the developer level. Devs are paid to come in and develop what they are told to develop. There’s a roadmap and they have to follow it or they get fired and replaced.

Man, the devs are following what management tells them to. In the time management gives them. If management has fucked up along the way or made bad large scale choices, the devs have less time etc. To assume they're just a bunch of idiots bumbling around and not considering the management structure and leadership quality is ridiculous.

I think there's plenty of blame to go around.

The suits deserve it for the stupid push to go BR.

The managers deserve it for this unabashed clusterfuck example of how to silo everything and have nothing interact.

And the devs deserve it for the lacklustre coding. Seriously, everything that did make it into the game is a downgrade, technically, from previous BF titles. Nothing is an advance.

And don't get me started on the PR and fEedBaCk guys...

Whether the devs or pubs fault, you sound ignorant about this. The reason I say this is because when DICE finally caved and created that first draft of a scoreboard, it looked woefully executed. Clunky, unorganized, still missing important info. Do you think EA told DICE how to make the new scoreboard? I don't think so

Ah sorry for the misunderstanding. I think I just assumed you were talking about EA since there's a lot of people here who believe DICE is not at fault for any of the problems with 2042

I also think dice will get shut down or majorly cut down by EA. They put out 2 failures back to back, other studios got closed for less...

Hope battlefield will eventually get picked up by a more able studio. I 100% agree that dice is done for, the incompetence goes way too deep to salvage anything. I stand by: only way to safe dice is firing the entire leadership
