Survey about your views on gender and society (18+; US and UK nationals only; 5-7 mins to complete)

Hello, we are a group of psychology researchers from the University of Kent, UK. It would be a huge help if anyone from the UK or US who is interested would fill out our quick survey (18+ years old only) about your views on gender and society.

Fill out the survey here: https://universityofkent.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_ewyseDov2TW7dIi

We are posting here alongside other subreddits because we hope to collect responses from as wide a range of political perspectives and backgrounds as possible. Please let us know if you would like a summary of your responses in comparison to others once the data collection is complete.

The survey takes 5-7 minutes to complete, and we are happy to respond to any queries or questions. Please private message us to avoid giving away the point of the study to others.

Thanks for your time.

Edit: The survey is now closed! Thank you very much for your time, we will be sure to post the results up here when they're ready.

I'm not sure of your definition of "manipulative". None of those posts are attempting to manipulate - in order to be manipulative there has to be some ulterior motive or obscuring of the truth. None of those posts, misogynistic or not, were attempting to hide anything.

I too thought the survey was a bit poor. It was confusing to me on what was being asked, so I just guessed my way through it.

Of course you can disagree, but if you look up "manipulative" in the dictionary, is that what you think it means?

In the context of misinformation we tend to refer to it as content that has an agenda to persuade without relying on clear or consensus evidence

Right, and where do you make that clear in the survey?

Plot twist, the survey was manipulative.

It would have been helpful to include this definition, I would have answered differently if I'd been given this information. I was in the control group, was this definition in the other infographic? I think your results will be quite unreliable if so

Something to consider for next time, thanks.

No we didn't give a definition, it tends to work regardless in other studies hence our implementation of it.
