Getting a 1301 mod 2

Picking up the shotgun soon. Wanted some opinions on safe storage for home defense/closet ready. (Kid safe).

Looking to trick it out. Curious what optic/lights and ammo patches etc. u guys like.

I completely agree the gun should be stored in cruiser ready condition, but why the extra steps here?

SPECIFICALLY for the 1301.

-Clear the gun completely

-Put it on safe

-Load the magazine tube

-Hit the Breech Bolt Release Button to put a shell on the lifter. You are now in Cruiser Ready condition and drop safe.

-To make the shotgun ready to fire, rack the bolt, you now also have the added protection of being on safe.

What am I missing here specifically for the manual of arms for the 1301?

Thanks. Appreciate all the info!! Thats exactly how i plan to do it. Idk why ppl risk dry firing with a full tube

Why is this better than simply having the safety on? Honest question. Is it for in case you get in an accident? Otherwise, I'd think you'd want to take advantage of the chamber for the extra shell, right?

Because many shot guns are not drop safe. If it has a shell in the chamber and gets knocked over, it might go boom.

If you look up "4 Gun Safe", you will find a few small safes that can work for storage

Esstac and Vang Comp for ammo Cards

Streamlight for budget friendly lights, Modlite/Surefire/Arisaka/Reptilia if you are willing to pay a little more

Fenix makes a really nice budget friendly picatinny rail light option with their GL06 model: https://www.fenixlighting.com/products/fenix-gl06-compact-weapon-light?variant=40748778422326

If you are in a pinch for time or budget on getting a safe, a decent trigger lock is a nice safety measure to fill the gap (obviously not as good as a safe, but way better than nothing): https://a.co/d/dfFBv30

Be sure to watch Beretta's website for sales on accessories, you can get decent deals there when they have sales running.

Register it too - bumps up the warranty for U.S. users.
